Did you cut it already?
if so, fuel pump swap that way is easy as hell.

yup i cut it last week, just got my new pump and harness in today. i think i can handle the harness no problem, just a bit confused with the actual pump swap.

If you can wait until the 26 when im in town i can give you a hand.
I believe the LT1 and 98 LS1 pumps are the same. If so, the pump part is easier then the harness part. pop the old pump out of the housing, put the new pump in the housing. Took me 2 mins for the pump swap. Did it in a hotel parking lot at 11pm after work one night. The harness part took me a little longer to do. They gave me a safety pin with the kit instead of a paper clip so getting the wires out of the connector was a PITA. other than that, took a little over an hour with hardly any light.

You need to modify the plastic housing so the new (bigger) pump fits in properly. You need a dremel or simular to grind down the fins inside the housing so the pump fits flush. make sure you take your time test fitting before gluing it back together. Also make sure you get the hoses on fully and not pinched. Nothing worst then having to pull it all part because of a leak that causes hard start or low FP.

i finshed the car this past week and it runs like a champ now. never heard it fire so fast. the car is actually running stronger now too. Im assuming the dieing pump was leaning out the fuel ratio and losing power. thanks all!
