I'm selling this car because I'm moving to Alaska. The car runs strong and has been reliable for me, even through a North Dakota winter (temps dipping into the -20s and -30s). At 155,000 miles I took it on an 8,000 mile road trip in winter, heading out from ND and going through MT, and it performed well. I drive the car, so mileage will go up a small amount Here are the basics:
1995 green Firebird, 3.4L V6
T-tops
180,xxx miles
Tires and shocks have 25,000 miles on them (8,000 of them road trip miles, the rest are about 80% highway miles)
Sony CD player
Block heater
Inspection is good till 7/2012
Hooker catback with high flow cat
It has a clean interior - I take good care of my vehicles.
Consistent oil changes with Valvoline 5W30 since I've owned the car.
Here are the negatives:
No heat. The coolant lines going to and from the heater core warm up, but not enough to heat up the core enough to have heat. I never cared enough to fix it, even in ND.
General coolant issues: the car will bubble coolant out of the reservoir. It has never overheated or operated at an abnormal temperature, but it is a nuisance.
Hatch struts are dead - you need to hold the hatch open or it will close.
The paint is fading and cracking in some spots.
The front bumper cover is cracked and chipped from a minor accident (someone turned into me at about 5 mph when I was starting through an intersection).
The rear driver's side quarter panel has a football-sized dent from someone backing into my car.
The alternator screeches.
Not sure how old the battery is - it is at least 4 years old though.
Despite these imperfections it has been a solid car. It will get you to where you need to go. In all honesty, if it were summer I would drive the car up to Alaska.
The car is located in Woodbridge, NJ. I have the clean title in hand.
Price is $1200 OBO - Cash or Bank Checks only.
