How you can you allow that to happen! Stop blaming the players and make sure you know what kind of game you're calling. How can you allow miss tackles down the middle, onside kick, QB running 35+ yards several times and then the punt return!

I really hope the Giants don't make the playoffs so we can get rid of Coughlin. But they'll sneak in a wildcard most likely which will save his butt. The punt return didn't really matter. If the game went OT, the Eagles had the momentum so they probably would have kicked a FG. I said the Giants should have let the Eagles score with 2 minutes left so they could try to do something. But the Giants called 3 lousy pass plays at the end.

Dodge didn't lose the game, the team and coaching staff did. You can't give up 21 points in less than 7 minutes in the 4th quarter. Dodge just saved us the suffering of OT.

Eh, in OT it's anyone's game really. You're right though, coaching. I never thought Coughlin was a good coach. I'm not saying this because I'm an Eagles fan or a Giants hater but I think their Super Bowl run was a fluke, at least it was for Coughlin. If he doesn't get fired after this season(provided they miss the playoffs) it'll be a damn shame for you guys.

I feel bad for you Eagles fans being stuck with Reid (and McNabb) for all these years. We've sufferfed through some bad coaches but at least they put it all together once in a while. The biggest thing about this win is that it will most likely give the Eagles a bye week. Most of the NFC is falling apart right now so it's really a toss up. Atlanta has a great home record so they really are the team to beat if they get home field.
Frosty
12-19-2010, 06:17 PM
Yeah, Atlanta is by far the team to beat.
you dont use a prevent defense against a qb that can run... you are just giving him 30 yards of space...

That happened today.. You keep living in the past all you want. We enjoy beating up on the Giants in the present... At least the Jets know how to beat a tuff Pennsylvania team. They didnt give up a 5 point lead but the Giants gave up a 21 point lead..

These epic collapses are par for the course for the Giants/Eagles rivalry. I remember a few years back it was the Eagles at home that gave up a huge lead to the Giants...I think even bigger than the lead the Giants gave up yesterday. I knew the minute Manningham fumbled the ball this was going to happen. The Giants had all the momentum and Manningham literally handed it to Philly. It's just something that seems to occur a lot when these two teams meet.

I agree, when he fumbled I knew the Giants were in trouble. One thing that was never really mentioned and kind of ironic was that Vick fumbled on that last long run he had when he dove forward. Nobody touched him and the ball was out sitting on his side. A Giants player grabbed the ball, but they blew the play dead. It was the same thing that Manning did in the last game. There was no reason to blow that play dead. I think I watched 4 or 5 QB's dive forward going to the ground yesterday. They need to change that rule about sliding before a QB gets really hurt and say a QB going to the ground is down and can't be hit.

Another thing, Jackson is a classless, arrogant prick. There was no reason for him to run across the field like that before the TD when he had plenty of room to run it straight in. Don't rub it in. Especially when you didn't play a great game and fumbled the ball yourself.

The problem with the Giants has been their special teams all year. It's not the head coach, offense or defense. Two plays that cost the Giants the game were the on side kick and the punt that was suppose to go out of bounds.

The truth is that #10 is probably one of the best if not the best reciever in the game. He is pretty much uncoverable unless you have a safty over the top on him for the entire game. The guy is sick at what he does. Does he like to showboat? Yeah.. Deon Sanders use to showboat alot more and I believe he is in the HOF and is a top 100 player of all time. T.O. Showboats and he will be a HOF, Micheal Irving Showboated and he is a HOF. Hell the NY Giants use to piss me off and probably alot of other teams when they use to do the Jump shot after they get a sack or a tackle for a loss. andre johnson, larry fitzgerald, calvin johnson, brandon marshall, vincent jackson, just to name a few that are better
the difference between most of the people you just named and jackson are that they showboated after they scored or finished the play, he is just begging to get lit up, and he has already fumbled TWICE while showboating on the one yard line.

You really think that a player would take a shot at Jackson and risk getting a crazy fine with these new rules in place? Maybe if it were a couple years ago but now a hit that would knock out a reciever will cost you a 15 yrd penalty and a 40,000 dollar fine..
The biggest thing I remember about watching Deon Sanders is his dances after he scores and the way he always taunted the other team when they couldnt catch him. The thing I will remember about T.O. is all the stupid **** he did after he scored and him crying about his QB.

So when Neon Deon would do his High step, hand on his helmet, holding the ball at the other team trying to catch him before he got into the endzone that is ok? Even to pull out a marker out of your socks and sign your name on a ball is ok because it was after the score? Grabbing popcorn and dumping it on your face is ok as well because it was after the score? Oh and after scoring running 50 yards to the star on mid field and through your hands up at the entire Dallas team and fans is ok also?
One of the problems with him is that Jackson is 24 yrs old and grew up watching all these people showboating.. I am 30yrs old and I grew up watching Jerry Rice, Barry Sanders, ect... People who are respectfull and play a respectfull game.

No, it's not OK. That's why I said before "I don't think it's necessary either." Jumping up and spiking the ball I can live with. But all the things you mention above and the stuff Jackson does shows no class and is disrespectful to the other team. Let him do it. It will not effect the outcome of his career because the NFL doesnt care. Why would he change or stop being a arrogant fool? If he puts up 10 more years of 1200 yrs and 10 TD's then he will be in the HOF as well even with doing his stupid endzone and pre endzone ****. Hell the NFL appolgized to the Eagles for the penalty that the refs gave to Jackson for falling into the endzone against the Cowgirls. They said that it should be a penalty.
When it comes down to it I am glad that He is on our team and will deal with his **** because of his skill. I would hate to have to try to cover him as a reciever or a PR. He is way underpaid but yet he still plays the game the way he always has. Does that make him a prick? I think that makes him a great roll model for kids to follow.
Yeah he would make me angry if he did that **** against the Eagles. Deon Sanders made me angry. The Giants D-Line made me angry back in 07 when the had those 12 sacks against us in 1 game and after each one they had to do a jump shot. But I would want them on my team in a heartbeat.

When the Giants won the Superbowl back in 2007 that was a great Defense on your team. Your Giants rose the bar for football in NYC and since have not done crap. The Jets have sota taken over in the Lime light.. Yourabout to loose your Coach who got you your superbowl win, You lost your best reciever who is in Jail ( something us Eagles fans know alot about) and you lost your best Dline man and LB
to age. Ever since then the Giants have been a flop. History is great but that is just what it is. History. The Eagles are in the Playoffs pretty much every season and give the city hope every year. Its hard to have hope in NYC about your Giants when they can give up 28 points in a 7 min period.I want them to win a Superbowl but I would not trade the last 12 years for anything.
I know what its like to have a team to goto the World Series and then not make it to the playoff for 14 yrs then loose in the 1st round. It freaking sucks.. I also know what it is like to have a team towin it all then the next year go back to the WS and the year after go back to the Championship series..

You Giants fans can talk **** when you start protecting a 21 point lead with 8 mins left and not loose the game...
it was fun when this was good natured banter, but it seems like everyones panties are getting into a bunch... turn it around quickly or the thread is getting locked up faster than the eagles decision to not put their speed built team out there in the snow today....

History is great but that is just what it is. History. The Eagles are in the Playoffs pretty much every season and give the city hope every year.
You obviously don't understand what it means to be a fan. Being a fan is witnessing the championships no matter what sport. I've watched the Giants win 3 SuperBowls. I expect them to have bad seasons and that's what leads to rebuilding for the next championship. The Eagles don't know how to do it, history shows that. And last week's game is history so you really need to learn how to decide which side of an argument you're going to take. You say the past is history, but you keep latching onto it. Heck, the Eagles haven't even reached Buffalo Bills status yet so you need to let all your past "winning" seasons go and hope your team figures out how to win a championship. The Phils did, the Sixers did, the Flyers did and I witnessed them.

When you are in the Military stationed overseas and the only NFL Football you get to watch are the NFC championship game, AFC Championship game, and Superbowl then you will understand my point of view as well. I got to see my Eagles play in 4 NFC Championship games and 1 superbowl all while being stationed on Aircraft Carriers in the middle of the Persian Gulf and Atlantic Oceans. They gave me a sense of being home for the 4hrs each game was and I was just happy to watch them. Was I upset that they didnt win? Of course. But to watch 3 NFC championship games in a row in a shop on the boat with my fellow Shipmates who were NYG, CHI and other teams and they were not able to watch a single game of there teams season all year was special to me and the other Eagles fans out there. I dont care if they are not Bill status or that they havent won a Superbowl. What I care and remember about those games was how it felt like I was back home instead of in the 120 degree Gulf.
And the Flyers won there Cups in the 1st decade of their existence. Since then they havent won a cup.. I havent witnessed a Cup winning Flyers team, I was to young to witness a Sixers Championship team as well.
Back on the topic of this thread after watching the horrible performance of the Giants tonight does everyone think its The coachs fault? I mean Eli threw almost 5 pics today, There recievers were dropping alot of balls, Both your RB's had bad fumbles, and your punter still sucks.. Did the Giants defense even have a sack today? The Giants played good in the 1st half but the 2nd half they looked like a totally different team. They are going to have a hard time in DC next week with the Skins beating the Jags today in Jacksonville.

The game was postponed due to fan safety precautions. There have been a ton of accidents in the area. It was the NFL's call on this one.

This game was proof Coughlin needs to go. I'm not surprised at the result especially after last week and the fact that Green Bay gave New England a close game with their backup QB. The Giants organization needs some serious overall right now. Head coach, offense coach, defense coach, RB's that fumble and Eli still can't make adjustments like he should be doing by now in his career. Guessing at where a receiver might end up doesn't cut it. And to think a bunch of the NFL experts thought the Giants had the best team in the NFC back in week 4 or 5. I think I said back then that they weren't a good team. Time for rebuilding, no reason to see how long you can drag out a combination that doesn't work. The only reason Coughlin won a SuperBowl was because of the defense(and def coordinator) that year. Next week Chicago vs Green Bay should be a really good game.

The Rams and Seahawks and Tampa and NO will be good games as well..
Its funny how you say that this combo doesnt work when you have a SB victory with this coach and QB... Yes the D was the main reason that the Giants won the SB but it was still a pass from Eli that won the game.

IMO the Giants got hot at the right time and played above their means.
...and Giants fans I'm not saying to that be a dick or to start drama. I really think they played better than they should have and things just happened to come together at the right time.

When I watched those playoffs in '07, I was thinking more why couldn't they have played like this during the season? Because they were obviously capable of doing it. Their playoff run proved it. It wasn't a matter of playing better than they should have. Rather, it was playing the way they should have played all along. I think what the Giants do a lot is play below their means. With the talent the Giants have, they should have 10-12 wins already this season.

Was that due to the players playing better or the coaches coaching better?

To me it doesnt as I couldnt really care but it is interesting to see what giants fans think. would they like to see a better QB with the same coaching staff like we did this past year with Kolb/Vick or would they like to see the same players with a new Coaching staff..

Look at what the Flyers did after changing coaches last season in the middle of the season. Coughlin needs to go but I'm not thrilled with the 2 starting RB's with their fumbling problems and Eli is still a big question mark. There aren't too many decent QB's in the NFL so I wouldn't want to give up Eli until they made other changes first. I still can't figure out how they were the 2nd ranked defense in the NFL going into yesterdays game.

Vick wasnt steller either.. Should have had 3 more INT's to go along with his 3 other TO's Shaddy is probably there best all around player and its only his 2nd year.. I would bench Vick for the last game and put Kolb in to give Vick some rest.

Yeah, Eagles have nothing to gain next week so you want to sit out the key players. It always amazes me when a team trying to either make the playoffs or improve their position can't get the job done. 5 years ago it almost never happened, but the last few years the team in the position to win and either clinch or improve isn't getting it done. It sure seems like the teams with nothing to gain realize they're playing for their future and do the job they should have been doing all year. The fact that New Orleans can still actually get home field and/or a bye week at this point is stunning. They keep getting healthier every week which makes them look better and better. Their defense is suspect but then so is everyone else in the NFC. The SuperBowl could be a real toss up this year.
it is when the year before they went 1-15.
contending means to have a chance at actually winning a playoff game

But with the way the NFC is this year anyone has a chance at winning the NFC.

not the west lol
you could have put buffalo in the nfc west this year and they would have 10 wins
