NOT! a friend of mine backed into the vette yesterday afternoon, i only had it out to wash it so i could put its new cover on before the snow!

the fiberglass mounting point cracked off the front of the fender... my clear bra took a direct hit and has just a scuff on it on the front bumper, and theres a small crack by the parking light

i got merry christmased with a dead ps3, YOLD'ed me this morning. but your case is def alot worse. would be a cheap fix if you vehicle didnt have the funny word "corvette" on it, but since this is not the case your looking at quite a repair bill. lol

noo it was like 2pm, i had just washed it and had moved it to the back of the lot so someone else could wash their car, some ones kids were running around the lot and he was lookin for them and didnt see my car

ummm yea a body shop will get a whole new bumper cover that's 1000-1500 only for the bumper and don't let the fender be bent OMG that's a whole other bill there ,then paint, labor come on a corvette OEM part cost alot of $$$
and a really anal owner isn't going to settle for used parts or something junkyard so in the end this is almost a $5000 job i bet you that much

You bet? OK, lets bet $200 that this isn't a $5000 job.

"bent" fiberglass eh? Man, you're right....that will be a $5000 job since the FIBERGLASS is bent. VERY tough to fix bent fiberglass lol

It's hard to tell the extent of the damage to the bumper cover but based on the photo it's repairable...and ANY insurance company would write repair on it(unless it's torn and ripped which it doesn't look like it in the photo). THE ONLY thing going for the replacement angle is that it's near a mounting point but any shop with a decent body man can fix that. That saves bumper replacement and full paint, eliminates the need to blend the right fender.

Shall I keep going(because I can get into the fender repair too) or you gonna keep telling this guy he's gonna be rich off of this minor fender bender?

I'm not trying to be a douche(that just comes naturally for me) but it gets to me when people make up stuff or talk out of their asses to make them feel special. I'm sure he'll get an estimate or two and they'll fix it...but if you think an insurance company would pay anywhere near $5K to fix that I have some ocean front property in AZ to sell you. Just because it's a Corvette with a pompous owner(just kidding man lol) doesn't mean the repair should be bloated.

EDIT: Sorry for coming off a bit strong(horrible habit of mine), just trying to state the facts.

All in all sorry to see your car got hit but better your car then someone's kids getting hit. Can't repair a smashed kid to be perfect again, a car you can fix and fix and fix and fix and fix and fix.

that reminds me of a story...

Years back, an older friend of mine was driving down a local street, doing less than 25mph, and out of the blue a young kid ran out to get a ball or something and luckily my friend managed to avoid seriously hitting the kid, but did make contact with him. The kid wasnt really hurt, yet the parents made a huge deal, cops were called etc, and in the end my friend got in trouble and had to go to court. I don't know the exact details since i wasn't in the car(the under 25 was stated as a fact in court) so i don't know if he truly was paying attention. Anyways, he did the whole court thing and was done with it. He left the town hall got in his car, and started to back out. He immediately slammed on the brakes as he saw something behind him. Turns out the same kid and his mom were walking down the row of cars in the parking lot and he nearly hit the kid again. There is no point to this story, no moral, it is true and just ironic. i only stated that it reminded me of this story, not that what you just read would be relevant,
