The idea of this forum is to be informational and educational in nature, trying to help us all stay on top of any legislation that may impact our hobby, good or bad.

This forum will be the only 'politics' we allow. Conversations need to remain on topic. This is not a place for partisan bickering and such nonsense will be removed. Anyone can start a thread but all new threads need to be approved first.

We also wanted to highlight the SEMA Action Network (SAN). You will notice we added them to the links at the right so you can easily find them and join.

WHAT'S THE SAN?

The SEMA Action Network is a nationwide partnership of car clubs, and individual enthusiasts (like you) who work together to impact legislation that affects car and truck hobbyists of all kinds. By joining the SAN you will receive up-to-date alerts on hobby-related legislation in your state and across the country.

On their site you can find such things as:

Find and Contact Your Legislator (http://www.semasan.com/san/ContactYourLegislator.aspx)
Download SEMA-model Legislation (http://www.semasan.com/main/main.aspx?id=61920)
State Legislators Who Support
The Hobby (http://www.semasan.com/main/main.aspx?id=61681)
Federal Legislators Who Support The Hobby (http://www.semasan.com/main/main.aspx?id=60159)
A Guide To Lobbying Your Elected Officials (http://www.semasan.com/main/main.aspx?id=61682)

We encourage you to join SAN (http://www.semasan.com/san/IndividualSignup.aspx). When you do note NJFBOA as your club.

We all need to help look out for our hobby.

As a footnote:

This type of organization is critical to us keeping our rights as automotive enthusiasts. These are the people that fight to allow us to legally modify our cars, run certain exhaust systems, and the like. If we don't step up and support them then we run a greater risk of BS laws being passed that keep us from doing what we love.
