Don't ask what it may go in, that's a suprise haha. My next project, since I'm becoming tired of the Camaro, will involve a LS1, and potentially an entire Corvette drivetrain for weight distribution purposes....... anywho, whats the total length from back of the block to all the drivebelt hardware, waterpump, ect, the height from oil pan to top of intake, and width including stock manifolds. I have my measurements for what it may go in, and want to see if anythign will need to be fabbed to make it fit. thanks guys.

IMO, pick up a plastic mock-up LS1 block. I doubt anyone has those measurements handy. Perhaps someone would be willing to measure one for you.

I seem to remember those being kind of pricey...

You should PM Bonzo, he has a LS1 doorstep.

i see used fake blocks for sale every now & then ~$200. I bet you can get a bad real block cheaper.

That's what I was thinking, just pick one up with a hole in the side of the sleeve or something, a block that's going in the trash just so I can put heads and an intake on top for mock up height measurements, and see how much room I have between the firewall and rad support, and how much of the trans tunnel I have to cut and fab.

Problem is that most people aren't idiots and don't just trash blocks, they get scrapped. Rare to find someone that will give one away.

I bet a scrap aluminum block is worth $50+ at the yard. Iron block much less. But $50-75 is still cheaper than $200+ for a plastic mock up. And you can scrap it afterwords. You gotta pay to play. ;)

Best bet would be to find a 5.3 truck block, they are cheaper and easier to find than a 346. Dimensions are the same.
