wow.. im glad they say she'll pull through. i wish cops were trained to continue firing until the suspect was killed, not just until there is no longer a threat.

I absolutely hate how much disrespect people have for a law enforcement officer to the point where they will shoot one. Lately it has been happening more and more. I'm 3 1/2 weeks shy of finishing my academy training, and all I worry about it this same thing happening to me since I'm a low level unarmed officer because some worthless mother****er that could care less about an officer.
RIP to all officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The man who allegedly shot and critically wounded Paramus Police Officer Rachel Morgan after a car chase died Wednesday, officials said, leaving unanswered a series of questions about his mindset as the violent sequence of events unfolded.

Stupid media. First off all, I hate the use of "allegedly" here. There's no allegedly; he f***ing shot her. Secondly, I don't give a flying f*** about his mindset. I don't care why he shot at a police officer, only that he paid for it.

God bless Officer Morgan and her family, and kudos to Officer Hayo for quickly coming to her aid and returning fire, even if he didn't fire the fatal bullet.

And those who posted above are correct. We're not even two full months into 2011 and already, 19 police officer nationwide (And, of course, one here in NJ) have made the ultimate sacrifice. Spina, been there and done that. You and any other brother/sister LEOs on this board: Be careful out there!

yea allegedly my ass... its on video tape!

shes done with surgery and should be off a ventilator soon, and is expected to make a full recovery! my buddy hayo seems to be takin it pretty well

its just still so shocking it happened at home, not to mention officers go their entire career and could never face this situation, and heres 2 of our newest officers, both have about 2 years on, and they get stuck with it, stuck with it in their minds for the rest of their lives
