So I have my PC hardwired to a wireless router, my PS3 is hooked up through the wireless part of the router.

The PC can't see the PS3, the PS3 see my computer as a "media" server but doesn't connect to it. Is there any possible way the PC can see what the PS3 is doing whether it be the internet browser or being online during a game? I would say not but I wasn't sure if there's a way to see the activity through the router. Logic would say the PC can't see anything, can't detect anything, can't track anything that the PS3 is doing. Example would be using the PS3 to go to a website or uploading pics...there's no way the PC could ever see what site the PS3 went to correct? Basically the PS3 would go through the router and right to the internet, yes?

It's a long story as to why I'm asking but I'm just trying to catch someone/something.

Not sure what router your using but most routers I've used had a setting for an activity log. I tried it a while ago and it listed every page viewed, what time it was viewed and what device was trying to access that page. I was also able to block specific pages or pages with certain keywords.

Hmmm, OK, I didn't think of that. It's a Belkin router, is that option automatically enabled?

If I put a monitoring program on the PC it wouldn't be able to automatically access the router and see activity could it?

Even though it's two different independent devices you should be able to monitor the traffic if you need to. Log into your router, get the address that's assigned to the PS3 and try to ping it with the PC.

And like Steve said, there's probably some logging features to the router.

OK thanks. I just wasn't sure if the PC itself could see what the PS3 was doing/seeing without logging into the router which it doesn't sound like it3 can unless the router has the logging feature enabled. You guys answered my question.

Thanks!
