yeah, the DMV has also shut down that location too now so maybe they are planning on redoing that whole area. I'll check it out in April to see if anything goes on there.

I don't know if it's officially started up yet or not. I heard that it might be held in the Boulder Run parking lot, which is the next lot over (Stop & Shop, Blue Moon, McDonalds, Starbucks, etc).

There is a show at the Advance Auto Parts every Monday (raindate Tuesdays) in Saddle Brook starting Monday April 25th.
I was by the Wyckoff site today and did not see anything going on. I will head back there tomorrow night or over the weekend and post a message.

I was over at the parking lot where the Wednesday night car show took place. It is all roped off. So my guess would be there won't be one there. There is a cruise night on Mondays at the Advance Auto Parts 427 Market St Saddle Brook (next to Harbor Freight) starting this Monday 4/25.

Thread revival.

Creeper & I went a few Wednesdays back (however, it was relocated to the Walgreens on Cedar Hill Ave in Wyckoff, which was smaller, but still good to have).

Fast-Forward to tonight: A buddy and I went tonight (approximately 6:30pm) and there wasn't a soul in sight!! We then shot over to the old spot (DMV lot) and found that the gates were closed & no cars were there.

What gives? I noticed a few of the usual suspects cruising around on the roads as well. Can someone in-the-know please shed some light on the current status of this, once reliable, local meet up?

I had heard for years they were trying to clean up that lot, I'm kinda shocked that it was closed off.

Maybe people aren't sure its started up again due to the weather. I'll definitely swing by next week as I have Wednesday evenings free again.

From what i heard the older guys that attend the car show wanted to be closer to food and bathrooms hence they meet now over by the walgreens on cedar hill, but then again thats just what i heard . .

Shawn-

We stopped by the Walgreens on Cedar Hill last Wednesday around 6:30 or so and there wasn't a single car to be seen.
However, Keith & I went there a few weeks back, around the same time, and there were still 50+ cars in the parking lot.

Maybe it's bi-weekly now?

The Wyckoff cruise night had quickly outgrown the Walgreens lot after the 2nd week it was there. The guy running it (Rich) he lives in Wyckoff and was having a difficult time finding a big enough lat that they could close off to the public. It is still EVERY Wednesday night but has moved to the Church on Cedar Hill Ave near the intersection of Wyckoff Ave in May. A lot of people dont still know its moved but it is getting more cars every week. If you can get there by 5:30 or 6 you'll be able to get a good spot. There is a great variety of cars but sadly never any 3rd Gens. Its only a matter of time before it gets too big for that lot but there arent many places left that can host 300+ cars which we used to get at Boulder Run. Anyone planning on going over PM me and I'll see if I can stop by with one of my 3rd Gens as its just a few blocks from my house.

This was the kind of reply I was after. Very helpful! I'm going to try and make it out there one of these next two Wednesdays. I'll definitely shoot you a PM beforehand. I can usually drag Creeper & 97Camaro out, and I think Ar0ck is getting the itch too

Happy I could help. I live on the route to the old spot by the DMV and see so many cars still driving by on Wed that I'm going to put a sign in front of my house saying the car show moved to Cedar Hill. When it was at the DMV my wife and I would watch everyone drive past our house on the way to the show. I feel bad for the guys that don't know it moved, cant find it, and waste their night going to the DMV only to see them drive by 3 minutes later because they don't know where the new location is. This new location is in the lot BEHIND the church so you could drive right by and totally miss it because the cars are hidden by the buildings. I don't remember the name of that church but its on Cedar Hill Ave between 208 and Wyckoff Ave. Its on the other side of 208 from the Walgreens (where they had it for a few weeks this year) so if youre taking 208 North just get off and bear to the right / straight onto Cedar Hill; its down about 1/8 mile on the right. From 208 South you take the exit and bear hard right to go OVER 208 then take left at stop sign to get onto Cedar Hill. If you get to the light at Cedar Hill / Wyckoff Ave you just passed it (its that well hidden). Its a really nice show that draws cars from all over. The only other show that gets an assortment of cars like that is Bear Mountain where on a good night there are 1300+ cars! Its in a residential neighborhood so please represent with respect so the neighbors don't complain. Hope to see more 3rd Gen guys there! I'm one exit away on 208, so let me know before you go; if I can make it you can swing by my house and we can roll in together.

Sadly, I can never get out of work early in enough to make it up to Bear Mountain, which is why the Wyckoff Wednesday's always worked for a local like me.

Boy am I glad you've got your ear to the ground!

Because I posted a few weeks ago with the location details, I thought I'd post a follow up and comment on Whiskey as well.

Attendance at Wyckoff was a little light last week due to the heat and many people are at their Shore houses for the summer until Labor Day. Still a nice display of a wide variety of cars raging from a Brass Era "horseless carriage" to a brand new Porsche GT3RS and a vintage 57 T-Bird Drag Car. I saw a couple clean 4th Gens roll in just as it was breaking up, so if that was any of you guys, you literally showed up 10 minutes too late.
I went to Whiskey 2 weeks ago and the place was almost fully packed. There was about 15 Mustangs with NY plates on them but just a few Camaros & Birds of any Generation there.

The MUST ATTEND Saturday cruise is at The Chatterbox Drive In out in Sussex County. It is an INCREDIBLE event and you have to go there AT LEAST ONCE a season. The food is AWESOME, the atmosphere is fun and enjoyable and a nice place to take your GF/wife to look at cars since its not just a bunch of gearheads. My wife (who still has her totally original 89 RS) loves going there with me (although she really goes with me for the chocolate shakes) so its very easy for us to find an "excuse" to take a ride there. Family friendly, but not a lot of kids so you dont have to be paranoid of leaving your car to grab a bite or walk around. I've been going there since it opened (probably 15 years ago or more) and we're really lucky places like that still exist in NJ. If you havent gone there yet, its what you would imagine a California Cruise Night is like. I'm in Wyckoff & the way I go there is a 40 minute joy ride through some winding country roads and a few short miles of wide open highway so its a great way to put the car through the paces. Only bad thing is if you dont get there by 3:30 - 4:00 PM you're NOT going to get a spot on the pavement, IF you get a space at all. I've been there when they were turning cars away because there was not a single spot left ANYWHERE! I sometimes go with my dad and his group of old timers with vintage Corvettes; they insist on being the first ones there so they can get one of the prime spaces under the building awning, but if you ask me the grass lots (which are flat and cut short) are much more comfortable to sit by the car and enjoy the surroundings. Its like parking on carpet and about 30 degrees cooler than the pavement. The ONLY drawback of that show is you MUST have QQ plates in order to get on the pavement. It doesnt bother me, but I know some people refuse to park on grass and wont go because they cant leave home early enough. Anything new(er) MUST park in the "Modern Muscle" side grass area. There is another grass area behind the rear parking lot which has overflow that cant fit on the pavement but I'm not sure if its QQ only there also, since you have to go through the paved lot to access it and people at the entrance directing traffic. Not an issue for us Third Gen owners but if a bunch of different Gens caravan there together, it would either split up the group OR everyone could opt to park with the newer cars on the side grass. I was there last Sat and there was about 200 cars or more. One of the BEST cruise nights in North Jersey BAR NONE! Some really high quality six-figure show cars, a few Power Tour Participants, F Bodies of ALL Gens, Vipers and other Mopars, SRT Jeeps, every year Corvette, Hot Rods and even a handfull of VW Beetles and random "stance" cars. There are also some survivors and daily drivers so bring what you got and show it proudly because theres sure to be someone interested in talking with you about your car. Its not exactly "local" but well worth the trip! I think getting there is MORE than half the fun. If anyone wants to hit Whiskey or Chatterbox on a Saturday I'm down to attend either so feel free to PM me.
