i use eagle one aluminum cleaner. nothing will "melt" brake dust away. no matter what cleaner you use you need to scrub them a bit to get them clean

Do not use Armor All wheel cleaner! I followed the instructions but it ate away at my clear coat on my truck wheels. I had to wet sand to help get rid of the clear coat runs that it left behind. :-x

P21S is a top rated brand, but any name brand (Turtle Wax/ Eagle One/ Meguries) that says CLEAR COAT SAFE should be fine. Just don't use any of them on a HOT wheel. A soft round wheel brush is also helpful to scrub of excess brake dust. Apply a good coat of wax on the wheels, as this will also help the brake dust to come off easier.

Thats what I use and I haven't seen anything like that. I have stock 2000 SS wheels if that makes a difference. Also used it on my stock 1997 5-star wheels and they held up fine too.

They make 2 different p21s wheel cleaners.... the gel for very dirty wheels and works awsome. The other one for regular cleaning works good... but your better off getting something cheaper depending on the wheel I normally either use griots garage or Sonax full effect. I only use the p21s on really really dirty wheels (bmw's normally because of the brake dust)

I have used this in the past. It's from Griot's Garage.
