recently got a LQ9 intake off my friends truck. will this fit on my motor(01 LS1) and if so is there even a significant difference?

Then leave the truck nonsense to people who drive trucks, or swap truck motors into Fbods and run slow.

there is a reason that no one talks about intake swaps besides LS6 and aftermarket: the rest either don't fit, or don't help

It wont fit under a Fbody cowl, you have a 2001 so it already has an LS6 intake on it...
