View Full Version : Get rid of the New Jersey law of having front plates!

Think we should start a petition against requiring front plates on cars due to fuel economy. I mean the front license plate messes up the aerodynamics of the cars and forces to uses more gas.
Plus front plates look terrible.
What do you think?

Probably. Most NJ car groups have tried to do the same thing but it's hard to battle the state gov't to get them to change laws.

i don't know why it would be so hard to change this law....it would save the state some money in plate making, and all the front plates that would get turned in they can recycle and make more plates, to me this makes all the sense in the world

I know petitions have been tried in the past, but has any serious effort been put in since Gov. Cristie was elected?

Best of luck to you. I can't even get a straight answer out of the state regarding how to be recognized as an "official club" and that's after 4 years of run arounds. If they don't want to deal with it you will be put on the merry-go-round.

For collector car registration purposes. One possible "requirement" is a letter from a "recognized car club", and we have been trying to find out what that means since the new reg. requirements went into place.

I love Bricks..lol. I live in Brick hehehe
Ok... honestly this was tried in the past, and yes a lot of us know that and nothing ever came of it.
However, very few of us thought NJ would become a emissions only inspection state.
They will do a lot to save money.
So who knows, I'm sure the topic has come up for them about going to one plate to save money. And therefore, it could be a matter of time for all we know. Its definitely not something that's outside the realm of possibility now.

True enough. Same deal with tinted front windows, since you can't fail inspection any more for them.
