Is Atco seen to be a bad track or something? I dont get it. People on LS1tech ask me were I ran my car and I tell them Atco and they act like Atco is a cheating track or not a real racetrack. I get a lot of "try running on a different track and see what it runs".Its very strange. Just wonderring if anyone else gets this? Its just real nice to live 10 miles from a racetrack were as in Virginia I was 100 miles from the closest 1/4 mile track. Atco is not the nicest track but it is very far from the crapiest track!

Downhill, sub sea level, cheating.

I have ran my car both at Atco and at Virginia Motorsports park and it ran pretty much the same time with around the same 60'. Actually trapped 110mph at Virginia and 109mph at Atco but it was hotter @ atco when I ran it.. Same with my old V6 firebird. Pretty much the same runs between Atco,VMP, and Richmond. Not saying that what you are saying is false its just in my experience I really see no difference between the tracks.
and people tell me N20 is cheating as well!!

Yea, there is an old joke that Atco is 10' short, hence the fast times. In reality it's just typically prepped fairly decent and has good air more often then not. The guys out in the Rocky Mts. are just jealouse of -1,000 + DAs :D

Maybe at the start line, but the end is def below sea level, and hence, down hill.
Science!

eh...I believe its actually 45ft above sea level, and it actually curves to the right, hence why the right lane is always the faster one...

Good sir, could you please cite where you got these numbers from? My sources are fairly certain it is 43ft above, but only at the fair side of the left lane. Clearly we have an issue here.

Due to recent renovations, the hight of the track has changed from 43 feet to 45 feet for the 2010 season. Also, due to several earthquakes around the world, the end of the track has shifted to the right. We wish everyone a great season, and look forward to seeing you racers this year!

Hmn, quite serious these changes are, my clients will have to be notified of these severe effects. Perhaps now they will not be accused of cheating. Your people contact my people and we can put this discrepancy to rest.
Yours truly,

Atco IS a real track. I'd much rather run there than the overhyped, overrated Englishtown. They're just hatin' on you.

Atco is 93' above sea level.
The only complaints I've heard about Atco is that they are lax on safety stuff, which is supposedly changing this year.

No offense but you were racing a buick riviera running mid 14's? Not much to tech cept the helmet  Ah well, I only hope they become more strict, that means less break downs on the track and a safer racing environment for everyone.

I'm not sure, never looked into it that far. Might be some gray area but I bet you are alright if its just a pulley swap or minor work.

Once the car is modified from stock, the rules kick in. Now whether the tech guy will know you swapped a pulley or w/e is up to them to enforce the rules.

Yup, it's just like the rule about bone stock cars not needing a roll bar if they run faster than the allotted times. Once it's modded in any way, the rules kick in.
