So I'm really in the mood to try someplace new tonight. I am looking for someplace with kind of a fridays applebees etc atmosphere, maybe a little better quality food, loudish music etc. I went to brick house in piscataway a few weeks ago and loved it but am feeling food ADD right now. Anybody have any suggestions for me? The closer to the middlesex, somerset, unionish area the better

Buffalo Wild Wings is good. Maggiano's in Bridgewater is also a good choice for something a touch more upscale than Applebees/Fridays etc.

May I then suggest a local pub. I find that certain ( but not all) pubs can make some awesome food, for us locally there's a place called Bulldogs that makes out of this world food......and waffle fries ( Waffle fries FTW)\
Oh and a Famous Dave's if you have one up there. ( Memphis Dry rub FTW)

Famous Dave's is complete and utter garbage. I'd rather eat cat food.

their service is garbage, but I'm from the sophisticated area of the sticks so food like that is norm for me lol.

Jose Tejas is a fun place with great food (Cajun/Mexican), going to meet some friends there for dinner tonight :)
For something a little more upscale I'd suggest Cheesecake Factory, we go there at least 2-3 times a month - there's so much on the menu there's always something new to try and I have yet to order something I didnt like.

I ended up going to The Old Bay in New Brunswick. It was pretty alright but it didnt live up to the hype I have heard about it. I did get something called swamp water though that tasted like flat mountain dew thats been raped by assorted booze, pretty decent.
I guess to contribute to my own thread a little...
I have had 25 burgers alot of times, its pretty awesome if you are in the mood for a messy greasy burger, but I think blitz burgers in North/New Brunswick beats them
Freddys on pierce is right down the block from my job and their calamari is pretty good but thats about it and their drink prices are pretty outragous for a place that isnt usually that happening
Stuff yer face has pretty awesome pierogies from what I remember and the strombolis they have make a pretty wonderful drunken treat
I LOVE tejas and am usually there about once every other week
One that wasnt mentioned I considered is Old Man Raffertys, I went there a few months ago and it was really good, they are kind of houlihans-ish.
