thought i'd mention it to anyone... i'm not exactly sure who would benefit but since i bought my car 2 weeks after it went into effect i'm eligible and just confirmed with the dealer.

That's pretty rad. Probably just trying to get higher mileage cars into dealers to then sell repairs.

most if not all repair shops do something like cheap oil changes to get you in. same thing with dept stores, advertise a cheap tv so you can buy that bigger and more expensive one.

a lot of dealers have lost customers to the economy and business practices of dishonest business owners, im glad there at least trying to win back customer support.

The dealerships take it up the ass hard on this deal, I hate it. GM pays us almost nothing to do these oil changes.

Do they use any lesser quality products when doing the oil changes? e.g. lesser quality oil / filter?

I can't speak for other dealerships but we don't change anything for them, we use what we use for any other oil change(unless the customer specifically asks for Mobil 1 OR if it's a 2011 which GM requires a synthetic blend for)
