I was just curious if anyone on here is a member, or was a member(especially of the SJ Chapter). I've been looking at it, and I can't decide on it. The membership cost isn't too bad so that isn't a problem(First Gear Membership as I'm 20), but I still can't get a strong grip on what it's all about. Might be a dumb question to ask, but it's worth a shot.

Any help is appreciated!

If you do alot of SCCA sanctioned racing, sure. The AutoX going on down here is 50 for non members, and 35 for members, so if the membership can pay for itself, sure, otherwise not necessary unless they require you to have one to participate in whatever race you're doing.

you need to be a scca member to race in any scca sanctioned event if you are not a member you can buy a weekend membership for 15, The membership has some benifits discounts on car rentals, hotel discounts, you get sports car magazine. Im sure I am forgeting a bunch of stuff. Plus once you get the hang of this you will be a better driver than 99.9% of the boobs driving, thats worth the price of the membership alone. If you have any questions pm me. The chief novice instuctor for the nnjr scca co drives my car. You should def try it out, just leave the ego home, dont worry about how fast your going. If you listen to your instuctors you will drop 5-10 seconds between your first and last run.
