Ok, i know the ford jokes are going to come in but its ok i'm on a GM forum.

I just got a call from my neighbor who runs dumphy ford in philly. They told me one bottom end was trashed.

Friday night i was driving to my girlfriends house coming down the black horse pike. i was driving in 5th around 55mph and got a nasty knock. the car shut off. i started it back up while coasting and it sounded like **** so i shut it off and coasted into a parking lot. i called my dad and he picked it up with out trailer. i dropped it off in philly at the dealer. So i blew the engine with 2727.5 miles.

I'm not going to lie, yes i did drive the car the way it's ment to be. I didnt beat the hell out of it but i did get on it here and there after the first 2k miles.

I went on a mustang forum and a lot of guys are complaining about the same stuff. and a big problem is oil vanishing.. no smoke or leaks...

I'm not pissed cause they're replacing it after i did exhaust intake and tuned and its all for free.

And also its a brand new model and a new engine. there will always be bugs. it sucks but i can live.

Those first couple of posts when you got the car, kinda sounded like you couldn't wait to get it down the drag strip and pound that mother and drive it like it was supposed to be:rofl:. Did you ever check the oil during the break in period?
Your lucky FORD is still picking up the tab after the intake was installed.

No matter what make or model of car, that sucks. At least it's covered. Hopefully they can figure out what the real problem is otherwise keep an eye on the new parts because they may not want to cover multiple failures.

no camaro lol i dont like the back of them, i just feel like to many people got them also. i only seen 4 5.0's in my area and theyre all older men. but yes to the vette. i was so close to a 09 zo6 but the insurence would've killed me.

and i really drove it pretty good. i mean yes i did race my buddies bolt on c5 on a closed road and reached 178mph before i had to slow down due to the slower race cars infront of me.

also when they ran the codes on her it came up max safe speed was reached my dad asked how fast i was going with it. oopssss

Can you get pics of the engine damage? The dealer might have to take pictures to submit for the warranty claim.

Did the car have an oil pressure gauge? Any telling signs besides the noises it made when it let go?

So let me get this straight. It is still so new it hasn't reached it's 1st oil change yet (2727 miles), you already did an aftermarket exhaust, intake and tune, the ecm gave away your ridiculous (nearly unbelievable to be honest) speed and they are warrantying it? No wonder you bought a ford, someone has a really good friend at the dealer. I hope you buy him something real nice after all this is done, because they're saving your bacon big time x10.

BTW, the :bs: flag can't get raised high enough on your "i did race my buddies bolt on c5 on a closed road and reached 178mph before i had to slow down due to the slower race cars infront of me." comment. I mean you have a closed street long enough to go that fast, then stop because there were slower moving cars in front of you? How did you close route 55? Let me go put my waders on. I might suggest you keep your boasting offline.

At least you didn't "beat the hell out of it".

There are tales of these cars leaving the factory pretty low on oil. I hope his friend can get them to look past that ECU tune. You know, warranties, poor people, and so forth.

I've got a few pics sent to me, the guys said they have seen this a few times already. Ford knows there is a problem with it. But as far as signs of it going.. nothing. I was crusing and no lights or oil drop it just got a knock and died. On a lot of forums they have oil problems and low oil from the factory.ford is now telling me to check my oil once a week.

How long will it take to get fixed?

i have no idea, hopefully soon. i'm dieing with it.

But i know i did some speeds in this car but i didnt do anything with it untill 2k miles. i still didnt destroy it or just none stop on it. the tune doesnt show up on the computer. i took the tune off and the air intake off.

i ran into a guy 3 weeks ago and said his bottom end let go at 500 miles.. he had the engine fully built and put a whipple s/c on it and runs 8's. he's the guy on youtube with the fist 5.0 in the 8's.

You should be doing that anyway. Don't rely on a low oil or low oil pressure light to babysit you.
