Since it's NJFBOA's Bday, any chance of telling the story of its conception? There's a lot of message boards out there, and it seems like NJFBOA is pretty large considering it's aimed at owners of F-body cars in NJ. There's members from all over, many aren't even F-body owners at the moment (including myself) yet the board is still frequently visited.

Long story short:

There was one site prior, NJFbody.com, and it was run like crap. Tim and Justin started to set up this site, and there was a mass-migration to here. Owner of NJFbody handed the keys over to Tim and Justin, and the two sites were merged as one.

Tada

Sure, the basic idea was laid out already.

A couple hundred of us belonged to another site (njfbody.com). There were several things many of us didn't like about that way that site was run, and there were a few things that caused the last straw to break. One night late in July 2004, while tossing back several beers in my basement with Tim (NJSPEEDER) the idea of making our own site came up. After a few jokes and a few more beers, Tim pulled out his credit card, threw it at me, and said "Make it happen!"

I spent about a half an hour researching web hosts, then I bought a basic webhosting plan, registered the njfboa.org URL, and started to install forum software. Didn't get any further that night, but in the next couple of days everything was setup, and we privately invited a few people to join the forum and test it out for a week or so before we went live. I believe we had 14 members when the site was announced publicly, and it has been one hell of a crazy fun roller coaster ride ever since.

Yea, you still had the blue / silver TA then, because you had it at our first club meet at Firkin at the end of September '04. Still the largest regular monthly meet we've ever had with ~35 cars and 50 people (when we only had about 200 total members).

Belated Happy Birthday!

And as I recall, She-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named moved out of state shortly thereafter, right? NJFBOA was destined to happen. 8-)

LOL...Cryz (IROCUBabe) is actually a member here now, I don't think she has posted though. She's married, lives in TX, and drives 18 wheelers with her husband. And yes, she still has Scorn (her 3rd gen Camaro).
