Clearly someone has swapped a 93-97 base/Formula model front clip, and 93/94 Formula wheels and taillights on to an 01... oh and they must've swapped in an L98... Or not.

He's not lying, I built that car.. I swapped in a TPI 350 that was bored out to a 682 CI monster... all cylinder bore, no extra stroke.
Reason for using a TPI motor? stump pulling torque with no balls above 3,500 RPM. I used it to pull down buildings for demolition companies.

could be an lt1 and someone used a TPI throttle body cover in a pinch and a young kid got it and didnt know the difference.

And there you have it. Did you seriously have to bother him though just to prove him wrong. I mean, sometimes when I sell cars I forget what year they are, or what motor is in it ........ mileage ... color ... ya know, little things.
