Does anybody know a shop that could weld up a damaged transmission case in the Morristown area? The case is cast aluminum and one of the ears is broken off on my Super T-10 transmission. I have tried the following with no luck: Di Lauri Steel Fabricators, Park Avenue Welding and White Iron Railing & Welding.
I have spoke to Supreme Welding & Fabricating and they think they can do it.
I am up for any other suggestions.
-Thanks

I would call first, as I don't believe they've acutally done any type of fab work in years. Now I think it's just one of the two owners left, and he's trying to sell off their old equipment at very high prices. I could be wrong but last time I was there was to look and see what they were selling off and all the equipment was dusty. They had a cool '60s Ford Indycar motor on a stand there, though.

After pricing getting the ear on the trans welded, I am going to pick up a new case and just refresh the trans this winter and put it in a new case. Surprisingly, they are not that expensive. About $80.

When I checked with a place a couple of years ago it was $80. I tried about 4 places and nobody around would weld it. Their TIG machine were down or didn't have one.
