may i ask which job required it for training. i have to do something similar in the near future
my friend is a state CO and did it a few years ago. He said some of the guys with him who were in the Army previously said it was even worse than the gas chamber. That was rough by itself. lol.

I heard from a police officer if you eat spicy foods regularly your body is less affected by pepper spray.

Very wrong, I would have been immune if so

it's good to get sprayed. If you have an ******* co worker who sprays a suspect during a fight chances are you will get sprayed.. I should be getting certified in a couple months when ever my supervisor gets off his ass...

It sucks. Especially when it's because they are high on pcp or some other drug that will make them want to fight

I've heard from a local trooper that some people are actually immune to pepper spray. One guy from his academy got it right in the face, squinted for a second and then he was fine.
I got sprayed a few times by the weaker civilian version, it sucked. One time my dad was spraying it in the air and I was down wind from it.

I've heard some messed up stories about people like that. My friends dad was at a domestic and him and his partner were just cracking him with the sticks and nothing. His wife actually pulled out a revolver and point blank to his face pulled the trigger 5x and nothing happened, she got cracked to and when they checked the gun it had 1 bullet in it..

I asked to be punched in the face by the instructor instead, but obviously that didnt work.

yea, O.C. Spray is intense pain that takes a while to go away. i had it in the academy , and also once some splashes were blasted back onto me at work. 2nd time wasnt that bad. but the first time.. it was like someone took cubes of road-salt, heated them up like hot multen lava temparature, and jamed the jagged pieces into my eyeballs and under my eyelids. not fun
the best is when it gets into your hair, and you dont really know it... you finish your shift, which was s****y because you got hit by spray meant for someone else, go home for a nice hot shower and the stuff runs down into your face again.
word of advice, cold showers until you KNOW you are decontaminated

True. Unfortunately, I met one such person and he happened to be one of the few people I'd ever met that was bigger than me. Not fun.
The spicy food thing is bull. Trust me on that.
I went through Special 1 before going full time, so I got sprayed twice. The second time was worst than the first for some strange reason. While going through the training, one of the forty-something recruits I went through with was immune to the stuff. Completely stymied the rest of us who spent an hour flushing our eyes and taking turns at the fan.
Just remember: If you do ever have to use it, be prepared for it not working, and as stated earlier, if someone nearby is using it and has no aim or common sense, be ready to duck because if it doesn't work, you're gonna be fighting.

very true 79 ta. also the backspray is bad, and sometimes even if it works, the person u just sprayed will be writhing in pain and when u go to subdue them they will get soem onto your skin just by physical contact in you trying to control them. it sucks but its better if ur prepared for it.
u guys can buy some spray at many places if u are really that curious about it and spray your friends . Galls is where i would get it...... for "personal protection" of course
