so i was driving in north haledon to get a drink at the store when i noticed a black woman and black man(about 20 years of age) walking and the man was pushing her around so i pulled into the parkinglot next to them and waited and watched incase it escaladed. after about 5 minutes the man became very loud and physical, at that point about 4 people came out and were watching. I had noticed what car he had gotten out of so i took the make model and plate down. a few minutes after that he had struck her in the face and she fell to the ground crying, he took off and so did i, i to the local police station where i notified the officers of what had happened(as i was explaining the 911 call came in). an officer took my name and number down and i has saw they were attending to her. im sure she will testify against him and give them all the information. this is the second time i have witnessed an act like that and have been the first responder, do you think that would give me any sort of pull in the police station as far as getting a disbatch job of some sort?lol either way it always feels good, I hope anything can help as im looking for a career in law enforcement .

Unfortunitly, no that will not get you anywhere in terms in employmeny, even though that was a great thing you did.

atleast they may not pull me over as much:lol: i figured it would be better to go to them direct rather then get in a fight, he was about 170 lbs im 215 and have been in plenty of fights but i didnt know if he had a weapon or not and there were other people there with her.

At least you did something. Too many people just stand there & watch. Good luck with the PD job, Jim

I agree. Get an internship in a station. You can either push papers or do bci which could be ride alongs to taking pictures of crime scenes.

You beat me to it...don't assume she'll testify against him.

Anyway, good deed, no doubt. Good job not getting involved either, quite frankly it's not your problem and like you said you had no idea whether or not he had a weapon. It didn't sound like her life was in any danger so going right to the police was the smart thing, that is what they're there for, that's why we pay taxes so they're employed.

he'll get locked up, shell go to court claim they've "worked things out", they will be escorted out of the court room by the officers.... be allowed to leave in the same vehicle then who knows from there.

heard him saying she cheated on him, pretty sure that doesnt mean a woman should be punched in the face.
