This picture from this past weekend's races made me laugh a bit. I know it looks kind of funny, but this ski boat kicks some serious ass on the water! I think somone said it's putting out around 500-600 hp and they keep winning their class. Maybe the extra weight helps with making the turns!

This garvey has been running great all season and screams down the straightaways!

Last weekend was the first time I've been to Parkertown. Those docks are in the middle of nowhere!

Those guys are nuts! I've done like 30mph on a boat and almost pooped. Boats are not my thing, hoes are though!

I've ridden copilot in the rival club's boats. Freakin fun. The flat bottom means even though they only hit 60 on some courses the boats are all over the place, and all the g forces of the corners translate straight through you.
That second boat Jeff posted hits 8500 rpm on the straightaways with a 358

Last race of the season today and the guys in the boat in the top picture took a pretty bad spill in the warmup. I think I heard one of them had a broken collarbone. The second boat blew the motor halfway through the championship race. Another one of the ski boats took a hard turn and launched them out of the boat. They were ok but shook up a bit. And one of the speed skiffs did a 360 in one of the turns and just missed taking out another skiff. It's not easy doing a 360 in the water with a boat doing 50+ mph! It was a long day and kind of cool and very windy but a pretty good finish to the racing season.
