Yes there are. One of them was an ACDelco PH25 which was discounted now for quite some time. The number that replaced it is a smaller size.

PF25 was changed to PF454 but is a smaller filter. I've read a few things about using a PF35 or a PF1218, they are supposed to be large filters and the PF1218 would have an anti-drainback valve. I haven't tried either one yet, may get one for my next oil change.
For the v6 guys I've seen a PF52 in place of a PF47. The PF52 is about 2 inches longer

I'd have to look up numbers but if you look up different applications you'll get different part numbers for the same engine. Like a 3rd gen camaro 5.0 for the small one, a mid 80s van or truck for a larger one. Iirc there was a stupid big one too, like a quart + but you'd never be able to use it in a car.

I went through this a couple years ago. I owned a '79 Camaro with a 350 and a full size truck with a 350 at the same time. They both used the same diameter oil filter and same threads. When I got a filter for the truck it was a bit longer, maybe 6", and the one for the Camaro was more like 4". I would just order a bunch for the full size and use them on the Camaro too. They weren't long enough for it to really be a problem, still shorter than the pan, I just thought it would be nicer to have a little extra capacity in the filter. I believe it was the same price too.

I looked at some Wix filters today. I checked out a 85 g30 van filter and both were much larger and will need and adapter to fit the 00 350. Not sure about the room issue yet, if any. Wix makes 2 for the 00. Small one PN 51042 and the larger PN 51522. Oh yea, the 2 quart filter is huge. lol

00 350? You mean an LS motor? Or were they still using SBC in trucks then?

Last year of the L31 was 2000 I believe.

I've used the larger filters on my small blocks for years. No need for any adapter. Did GM change the oil filter setup in the late years?

I believe the truck filter will work.
AC - PF61
WIX - 51522
Fram - PH3675
Group 7 - V5288
I cannot absolutely verify it though. It is taller by about half an inch and has the same connection thread size but there are some extra letters after that my newb ass doesn't understand.
The connection for your filter is 13/16-16" UNC-2B
The connection for the truck filter is 13/16-16" UN-2B
Maybe someone else has insight?

2000 5.7l LS1 engine.
LS1 engine is a different filter compared to Gen1 or 2 small blocks.
There are 2 types of filters that fit LS motors too, car and truck.
