Pretty sure there will be a part out thread in the near future. The car wasn't insured and was only out of the garage this week because I was working on one of my motorcycles, I had talked to my dad only minutes prior about putting it back in when the entire branch collapsed off the oak tree in our back yard. What a nightmare

that sucks Alex. Is it your tree or the neighbors tree? Homeowners might cover it if it is the neighbor's tree.

Wow, that sucks. Sorry to see that happen to anyone, especially to a vehicle you really care about. I hope there is an upside to this story in the future.

Really hard to see these pics Alex. Is the roof a really bad fix? Seems like a lot of it could be repaired without much trouble.

Saw the pics before on FB as well - made me sick to my stomach, cause I know a lot of blood, sweat, and tears were poured for this car. :( Best of luck with the situation!
I also agree with Jeff - keep the drivetrain for another toy down the road. It's a damn good combo to swap into an S10 or G-body.

On a side note, I'm sorry that happened bud, that is a sweet ride. You could always just hack off the damaged roof and make it a convertible.....

my sisters old 02 Camaro had a new roof welded on, i couldnt figure out why inside the Ttops was silver and the car was black, pulled the interior panels and saw the welding, turned out when i ran the carfax it was involved in a roll over! that then explained the oil in the air intake

So three days have passed and my parents insurance company hasn't responded. Worst case scenario is we bring this up to a corporate level, I deploy to Afghanistan for a whole year in a few very short months so I wont even be around to handle this crap. I had other plans for my deployment money but mid way through I'll most likely be buying a V6 Car as a roller, been tossing ideas around and I'll put some designs together later for a revamp. Thankfully the most important pieces IE the drive train are fine, so I would just end up transferring the heart.

Not for nothing, but you are no longer limited to a gen 4 chassis. Obviously your suspension stuff won't make the conversion though.

I did it, its easy. Easiest is going your 95 to a v6 95.

Parts that I know off the top of my head that will need to be replaced:
Rear passenger side 1/4
Drivers side front 1/4 panel
Glass all around
Drivers side door
Drivers seat
Spoiler & Hood need some cosmetic love
The bumper might have been torn off as well

I call dibs on those repairs if there is a club project.
After carefully looking over the chassis im junking. I can not find a satisfactory place to cut the front a pillars. For a v6 or maybe a stock v8, u could cut the metal at the base, but on a modded v8 like yours. Id only cut/weld structural frame sections at factory pinchwelds or seams. The sail panel area would be a breeze to cut due to 4 panels meeting there. But due to the a pillars being part of the whole firewall section, i would not swap roofs in your particular car. Sorry.

It is what it is, if the insurance will cut me a check as a total, then buy it back I'll definitely consider parting it out, but it wont be for a very long time.

i got all the glass except the windshield and misc. other stuff laying around... if it comes down to a rebuild, ill be dropping it off for you.

You could always cut the A pillars low, and take out the rear glass, and rock it like a 1963/4 Corvette Grand Sport open top lol.
