I've been thinking about getting into spinning a little bit just for my own entertainment.... I was looking at the Pioneer CDJ 400's and a DJM 800 mixer... I never plan on competing or playing at madison square garden so i dont think vinyl or anything overly expensive would be necessary... are there better tables or mixers in that price range? (no fanboi)... also, is there a reliable place i can pick up second hand equipment?.. Buying new would be silly IMO

I know Sam Ash Music buys and sells used gear - I work at one up in North Jersey. There's one down in Philly, not too far from you, and I'm pretty sure there's one in Cherry Hill as well. It would be worth a phone call to someone in their Pro Audio department to see if they have anything available.
As far as the equipment you've mentioned, I don't know anything about that stuff (I work in the brass/woodwind department) but I could ask the guys at work if they would recommend it or know something better.
