anyone disappointed in the multiplayer? really horrible spawn points and a really terrible kill system, i get one shotted half the time, unload 6-7 rounds in a guy point blank and they dont die.

It seems like MW2 to me. Difference is some people don't have jobs or anything so they already have better guns but for the most part I dominate when I play comparable level players.

people are already level 67, and another thing, is the host migration, and trying to get games started is real crappy right now

Campaign mode fizzled out at the end, not what I was expecting. From what it's telling me, there will not be a modern warfare 4??

As for the multiplayer, yes, its crappy. As you said, I'm getting hit with one shot wheres I'm putting in half a mag in them. the maps are clostrophically cramped, and once again, no sniper map to change it up at least. I may just go back to MW2, I at least enjoy the multiplayer in it. I will say I do like the survival mode.....that's it, the only thing I've enjoyed. Gamestop will most likely be seeing my copy, and exchange it for Forza.

its the same as black ops multiplayer. to combat host advantage they implemented a system called Lag Compensation. Its supposed to put people on an even playing field, but in reality in handicaps those with good internet connections vs those with bad ones. So say Host is Assigned a Value of 1. At the start of the match everyone with a better connection than the host gets assigned a value thats equal to less than 1. Those that have a crappier connection gets assigned a value larger than 1. Those that are assigned to the group that are better than the host are now handicapped by having their data stream being rewinded by the host by a few miliseconds. this is the reason you can run around a corner but still be shot dead, because by the hosts connection youre actual place on the map is different than your actual hitboxes are. this is also the reason why you are shooting at other people without getting a hitmarker, because by the hosts connetion that person isnt even there anymore. its a terrible system and the only way to remedy it is to use the mw2/cod 4 netcode or dedicated servers. neither of which activision is willing to do, because most of the world has crappy internet, so the majority win in this situation handicapping those with good internet.

by the asking ive done ive found the threshold for being under/over lag compensation is about 20mb download. im putting together evidence of this for a video this weekend. its terrible indeed.

majorly disappointed in the game. black op's is so much better.

I like the single player and special ops. Multiplayer was much easier in black ops. They made this too complicated and should've stuck to the money system!

Battlefield!

This. Although I miss the old battlefields (1942.. but I LOVED LOVED LOVED BF2) we know that it'll only be more about visuals then game play nowadays (Hence why call of duty releases a game every year.. the game play gets boring yet CS:S still has alot of players and BF2 had a good amount of players and you could play for.. DAYS. BF3 is more of a compromise, I really enjoy some of the maps.. but they will never compete with that of say.. Wake Island or Strike at Karkand from 2. IMO Strike is the best map i've ever played second to Dust2 in CS:S because it's so unbiased and ALWAYS a blast to play in. Still though, EA didn't do a bad job on BF3 (BFBC2 was a tester of the new gadgets and I absolutely hated that game). You can kill people with pretty much any weapon without all the silly LOLOL I GOT AN AC 130 KEKEKE Look at my NUKE LOLOLOL. No, this is battlefield.. save that crappy 12 year old stuff for Infinity Ward. It's still moving away from tactical FPS (squads were really squads back then... commanders actually had a role in changing battles.. and classes were important). I did like Assault being mashed up with medic, that's sweet. Snipers are i'd say a little more difficult to use.. but still fun. Support is usually **** until higher levels.. and engineer is well.. engineer.. it's a hit or miss. Attack Choppers are more usable now, and Jets I haven't seen have a map large enough to support the carnage (COUGH COUGH WAKE ISLAND >_>)

As to relate to this thread.. Call of Duty is boring after the first few weeks and only addicts go play to prestige because they haven't played a real PC Battlefield.

I agree with this although I have enjoyed the Call of Duty series. The original Modern Warfare was groundbreaking and the series got me through the gap of Battlefield games. The first battlefield I played was 1942 (PC) while I was in college and I would spend hours playing that game. It was easily the best game out around 2003/2004 period. I got Battlefield 2 for PS2 after and although it was much different on the console, it was easier to control. I played that with my fraternity brothers where we set up three PS2s and 3 tvs all on one table so we could play together since we didn't have headsets. Those were the days...

Anyway, I'm not opposed to Call of Duty at all and I bought and played all the games from Modern Warfare to Black Ops. MW2 had the best solo missions/story and zombie mode is also amazing from that series. I do prefer Battlefield's squad play/classes and honestly, nothing beats shooting down a Japanese Zero with a Corsair. My grandfather was a bombardier stationed in Guam for the war so I'm a little partial... I wish they would remake 1942.

Nasty, you've opened my eyes, and answered a few questions that I've had for a few years about why the hell I'd run around a corner, and I'm dead after being past it for a second. Black ops was good, but as said, they are making the maps cramped, I'm guessing to keep people close, keep the game moving instead of camping, but it takes away my favorite element in most maps....sniping, and if you don't have a fast pace class (i.e. sub machine gun, marathon, lightweight) you have no chance if you're running around with a light machine gun. I've never been shanked so many times in the past COD in just a few days.

this is the year of the crappiest yet most hyped up games ever. im rockin skyrim now, and its not that good, i think oblivion is better. i swear if assassins creed is as over hyped as these other games, im going to stop gaming hah.

Yeah? I was thinking about picking up Skyrim, I'm still messing with Oblivion. I can't wait for Assassin's Creed...tomorrow night will involve me doing about 90mph on the way home and playing until like midnight lol

id get skyrim, although i did figure out a few things, after a few hours of playing, stop (always a good idea) or else the game will start lagging because its much bigger than oblivion still on 1 disc. and you wont get AC til midnight, so looks like you're driving home at 90mph to go to bed hahah

bought the game. before i do multiplayer on a game.. i liek to run through and finish the campaign mode.. ive still yet to do that since ive been so ridiculously busy. prob about 3% don with campaign. and accidentally...ourt of curiosity i played a little multiplayer when my brother came home from the marines cuz he wanted to try the game. i mean, its good. but its not great. i'm more of a halo player. bought the halo anniversarry editiona nd been to busy to even open the package. sux. maybe once the weather is crappier and i am less busy.. but i can easily say im not that impressed by MW3. the campaign mode is cool.. but not a bad-ass as i had hoped
