Well here goes nothing.

Car is a '95 LT1, auto

I want to swap in a built 4L80E, without a MVB, its a street car.

So far I cannot seem to find out whether there is software for OBD1 PCM that will work a 4L80E. I know there is some wiring magic that needs to happen, that is not an issue, just concerned about the tuning aspect.

Thoughts, ideas, but no lulz.

no worky worky need 99&^ ecm

Got proof of this? IE I know the early LS1 pcms will not work, but I am referring to LT1 PCMs.

if 97-98 ecms don't have the hardware to run it , what would make you think that dinosaur of a ecm you have would have the capability?
its alot to explain and don't feel like typing it all. go on tech, there is quite a few threads on why you have to use a 99 & ^ model

you could get a stand alone just to run trans, but you will still have to tap in to several of your existing circuits like tps and such.

Becuase I have read that tunercats released a definition file that allows you to run it and you need to rewire it the harness a tad to reverse the signal of certain pulses but, it works.

Standalone was given some look at, the current contender is the optishift (ironic) which does pretty much everything and allows paddle shifter. But, that and the harness really pushes me towards just going with a whole LS1 PCM setup.

Looking to avoid that right now and not snowball the project cost wise.

Definetly call them. It doesn't mention any year restrictions PCM wise.

Believe its just obd II but I may be mistaking. Point being moot as OP plans efi 24x I believe.

OP is just trying to brainstorm cost effective options.

I assume you do not want manual valve body, correct?

i know you want to keep it a "street car" but how much is it really driven? do you really drive it enough that you need OD ? you drive the durty every day, and you can even tow the camaro to the track/ect. my LT1 was MVB TH350 stalled high, and i drove it everyday. i dont know how far you plan on driving it, when you do drive it, but if its not far why not go MVB? unless you dont want to go MVB for more reason than just because you want OD.

and remember, i do have the crossmember for the TH350

I just do not want to deal with a three speed trans when I can get a trans with OD built to handle it and work fine.

I don't drive the current setup much cause it sounds like a star wars movie.

my best friend father can build that 4l60 to hold up to your demands.
he's been building for 25 yrs. and knows all the tricks.
also it wouldnt really be a 4l60 when he's done with it. more like a 4l65/4l70 due to the internals he changes ie: 5 pinion plantentary set instead of 4 pinion style, etc..

Yea but for the same price, I can get a mild built 4L80E that will not need to be rebuilt every season. And, it has a transbrake.

But, PM me Curt with the details.
