Does any one know of a company that insures classic cars as a daily driver? I tried hagerty and grundy, both said no. I only put 10,000 miles on the trans am in 2 years..and the formula i've put maybe 5,000 miles in 3 years? I think it's silly i'm paying almost $2,000 a year through progressive for both. Anyone have any other companies they can suggest?

My agent wrote me a policy for American Bankers Insurance Company of Florida. In my application there was an option for a 7500 mile general use policy. Not sure how strict they are but they usually require 10 years driving experience.

I went with the 5,000 mile limited use plan. Just got my renewal bill for the year and it was $85.

what exactly does that policy cover? I'm guessing it is liabillity only at that cost.

No one suggested NJ Manufacturers to save coin? I have them for house and cars. They are the cheapest in the state but you have to be grandfathered in off a relatives' policy or work for a co that carries them as they don't take just anyone (forgot the exact requirements). I have the camaro insured via Hagerty for 15k and will probably add the vette but they are limited use, unlimited miles. I think a general insurance co may insure for an agreed upon amt but your premiums would skyrocket. Either take the chance on collector insurance or pay the addtional coin for an agreed upon amt via general insurance.

Hagerty also has other requirements like having a seperate daily driver, etc. unless they've backed off in this economy.

Nope..called them this morning..they required you to list a daily driver and where it's insured =( I asked if they would insure it since i only drive it 10 mins to work and back 3 times a week..they said no.

You are correct on hagerty. I called to have my vette put on that policy but stated i take it on vacation once a year...they stated if its not to a show or for a pleasure drive while returning to the garage at night they would not insure that vehicle....i could have lied and stated i was doing an out of state trip to carisle or what have you but i relented. The policy would still cover excursions out of state to shows or the hot rod powertour for instance but i was truthful and wanted to know the extent of their coverage.

The provisions for granting me coverage on the camaro during the time of inception was that it was stored in a garage, 4 pics of the vehicle and that i have a daily driver and a daily driver other than this car is furnished for any other member of my household that retains a valid drivers license (i.e wife has a daily driver for herself).
