I have a 3'x5' American Flag which I want to display. I have found ones that display it while folded but that is NOT what I want.

I want a frame the will display it while unfolded. So the size needs to be at least 3x5 feet. Preferably 3.5 feet so I could display several photographs and coins along the bottom. A little background of the flag... It was flown on our guntruck in Afghanistan, and stored inside our truck after that the whole year while I was the gunner. During that time, we were hit by an IED and some items on and in the vehicle were damaged or got dirty. The flag was intact but was somewhat soiled. Instead of trying to clean it, I want to display it as is, along with pictures of it being flown, our truck, my vehicles crew and so forth.

I'm almost thinking I'll have to custom build a frame, but have no real clue as to how to go about doing that. I will NOT pay a few hundred dollars to a frame shop though.

I would custom build it and make it look really rough like the flag, add a light at the top and than steal some broken plexiglass from the back of a hockey rink that has marks and scratches on it. Should cost like $25 bucks and maybe 3 hours of your time.

Thanks for your service!

Awesome story, Paul. I have no input but to say that that flag deserves a proper display. :usa:
