Hi, I'm Bill and I just came across the NJFBOA site, I'm located in Great Meadows up in Warren County but work in Hackensack so I'm back and forth across all of North Jersey pretty much daily. I'm currently restoring a 68 convertible and a 71 RS with a 72 Z-28 waiting in line. Looking to meet other people in NJ with interests in first and early second gen cars and keep track of local events.

Welcome, I'm right in Long Valley! We have a decent group who attends the local cruise nights in Hackettstown and such, and carpool/convoy to the monthly NJFBOA meets.

Oh, very cool, I can hear them running down at Island on the weekends from my house, I'm just a mile or so away.
Welcome aboard!
Thank you kindly!!

I can join you but won't have a Camaro to drive yet ;) I'm fast-tracking the 68 but it's still a way out to being roadworthy.

At least 1/3 of the meets I've been to have been in the Explorer, so don't be afraid.

Yes sir, pretty much all original and stock. Keeping it that way with exception of adding front power discs and larger rally wheels.

Looks like it will shape up to be a nice cruiser. It's great how your family is involved, too!

Yeah, it's cool, my eldest son has been into working on the cars for a bit but the wife is really excited about this one and has been pitching in quite a bit too. Been a fun project so far, trying to keep the budget in line with actual progress so I'm buying as I go which keeps things managable and progress moving steady :)

Thanks for the welcome! I've always wanted a first gen car but could not afford one, this just kinda worked out well. My dad had a 67RS that I remember from my childhood. I've also got a few early second gen cars that I'm working on.

Welcome. I have a 68 convertible in need of a restoration except it's of the Pontiac variety. You've got some cute pups! Are they bullys?

Welcome aboard...I'm right in your neighborhood..White Township, Belvidere area. I go to the local cruises and also attend a few shows that are pretty close. One at Warren Hills High School and another at M&M's Mars in Hackettstown. Maybe we'll see you at one of these this summer.

I'm a lil late to the welcome wagon, but Welcome to the site. I'm up in Andover in Sussex County, basically jump on 517 run all the way up and you'll pass within two blocks of my house in Lake Lenape. As far as machine shops go I'm in the same boat. I hear good things about A-1 Crankshaft in Franklin, but while my brother had his MR2 head done by them I can't truly judge the final product because my brother botched the reassembly and it leaks oil. It looked like nice work though. He is on my list for local work unless someone else says someone else is better. A local on here in Sparta had his motor built by the neighbor. Need more info from him though. The final shop I can think of is one in Lafayette behind the autoparts store just off Rt. 15. Don't know anyone whos had work done by them though. There have to be others I'm missing.

I know right where you are, I go up to Newton all the time and go up that way. I'm just west of Island Dragway.

I'm at the Chatterbox almost every Saturday when the cruise nights start. May start going to the one in Newton if its good enough as I hear they may have one during the week on Main Street. As for my car...the last time it was out in a truly public environment, it blew the heater core sky high at the Fairgrounds during the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show cruise night. I fixed that but other issues arose with the free donor motor that I decided to just go rebuild the whole car the way I want. All I need is a motor but I'm broke. Leaving body and interior for after its sorted and running.
