the guy i bought this from did not understand how to store an engine, he left it dry and uncovered in his basement, lots of surface rust, ill get some pics up later, heres some info:
JE forged pistons(i think 10cc dish iirc)
Eagle i beam rods and crank
ARP rod and main bolts...
1pc rear main seal...
needs crank polished, rings, honed and might as well put in new bearings,
2 bolt block and complete rotating assembly
should make a pretty cheap 383 especially if u can do most of the work yourself, im moving to a house with a smaller garage and im not gonna have room to have this sitting like it is now
$400 firm, its worth it.
located in Lords Valley PA 18428 i can deliver within 100 miles for $475 cash or maybe trade for some 16" drag radials and a little cash?? also interested in a complete WCT5 swap

Carb or fuel injected motor

lol it doesnt have a cam.... its a 1pc rear main seal block... which were all TBI or F.I from the factory... you put whatever heads cam intake etc etc on it and make it do what u want cam choice is probably the only thing that REALLY matters as far as carb/F.I. goes

mechanical fuel pump provision?

Flippindabird

dont think so bonz... have to check

see your point... that would be the other thing, BUT carbs can be ran with electric pumps ;) like the one in my car lol

mechanical fuel pump provision?

I am drawing a blank here so excuse me if I'm wrong. The newer (first gen vortec year) small blocks had provisions for mechanical fuel pumps but I can't recall if they were just castings.

@ bonz yeah i get ya

@raffz i thought mech fuel pump provision stopped after early l98ish blocks, but i could be wroing as well, ill be home in a few hours to check

but like i said your really paying for the rotating assembly and the block is free... add your own block with fuel pump provision and your good

Forged or cast crank? What size are the pistons?

Flippindabird
03-05-2012, 06:48 PM
pistons are .030 over "383 specific" JE pistons 10 or 12cc dish

i would not sell a forged crank for 400 with pistons and rods :)

had some stuff to do during the day and now that im home i dont feel like going out to the cold garage to take pics but i will have them up tomorrow, sorry bout that.
