Just scrapped one for $237.80 without the computer/cabinet. They used to buy them in NY but not anymore. It can't be used for a high performance dyno sadly.

wow. weren't they like $20k installed or some crazy thing like that? at least the ones installed in the floor.
Yeah, my old shop got one and that was the 1st thing i asked - dyno pulls lol.
so what good would they do anyone, put cars on it for drivability and part throttle tuning or something?

the machine has to be worth something not 20k at least a 1k its the complete computer not missing anything i dont know if the computer can be reprogramed and turned into a dyno

Like everyone else said...they're worth scrap value. I almost picked up a set of rollers for $100 but didn't have the room for them at the time. You won't be able to turn it into a dyno, but the rollers can be used for tuning purposes. Once my new garage is done, I'll be looking for another set.

It ain't like installing MS Office.
It will probably need brand new hardware to read all of the sensors on top of the actual software itself, which is priced at "Call for Quote" online... which in the industry means "a ****ton of money so we need to try to talk you into purchasing it".
Plus it's probably calibrated for a particular type of dyno setup, like roller weight, etc.
Try calling a dyno software place and see what they say.

Attack an admin, for comments I didn’t even make no less, always a good move. Especially from someone that abuses the classifieds here.
BTW my car runs fine, unlike anything you ever sell or own. Thanks for your concern.

im not attacking an admin, im just trying to get you to stop breaking my b*lls, every post i put up i usally get crap from you bonzo, you thing your someone special your a person like everyone else, but you think because your an admin you got more power then a cop, i dont abuse the classifieds i try to clean out the stuff i got maybe some on here can use it for their car

I wasn't breaking your balls, I was asking how. I wanted to know.
I think if you go back and look at one of their hundreds of f/s posts, you will rarely see my posts in them. Go look. God knows there are enough of them. If I post in your f/s posts, which is rare, I usually have an actual question.
I won't even get into your classified abuse. Like selling 5 cars at once. That would be a different topic.

How in the world could the inspection rollers, which can only handle 100hp be turned into a dyno? Short of spending a ton of money of course.
Just scrap the damn thing and pull the stars out of your eyes.
And your right, bonzo is a big meany.

It can't be turned into a dyno like you think and this isn't even a classified ad yet you are asking people to buy it.

You ask if it can be turned into a dyno here:
how much is a inspection machine worth its the style with the roller complete with computer can it be converted to a dyno
These people tell you no, it can't be turned into a dyno:
Nada, as its not used anymore for anything.
Scrap value.
Just scrapped one for $237.80 without the computer/cabinet. They used to buy them in NY but not anymore. It can't be used for a high performance dyno sadly.

bonzo can you re program the computer to turn the inspection machine into a dyno
These people tell you no (again), it can't be turned into a dyno:

And again, you state that it can probably be turned into a dyno:
bonzo the inspection machine can probably be turned into a dyno
Chris - NO, the state inspection machine that you have CANNOT be turned into a high performance dyno to determine horsepower or torque.
The hardware and software of the inspection machine is very outdated at this point, and it was only ever originally intended to handle average daily drivers on the rollers at low cruising speeds for emissions testing purposes. The only somewhat practical purpose those rollers have for someone with a performance vehicle is that if they had the time / money the rollers could be installed so that the owner of said performance vehicle could use complete separate tuning equipment to do idle and part throttle driveability tuning while the car is in a stationary location. This is something that only a small handful of people would likely be interested in though, mostly due to the work involved in dropping this setup into the floor of your garage.
