View Full Version : Good home air purifier?
My allergies are killing me and I truly believe they are worse in my apartment than when I'm outside or in my car.
I want a basic room air purifier. my living room is under 200sqft. I need one that filters pollen, pet danger, mold etc. i don't need it to remove odors.
Anyone have any experience with one or any suggestions? Im willing to spend up to the $200 range.
i couldnt take it anymore and got a Honeywell one. Its a known brand and should work for what i need.
Just plugged it in so in a few hours I'll see if theres any difference...

I have bad allergies and my one son has asthma issues. If you have central air I would get a better filter and turn the fan/blower on. I have baseboard heat and central air and we had the blower on just about all winter just to filter the air.
They say that the air inside you home is usually worse than the air outside.
Also, those neti pot things work pretty good at breaking up sinus congestion. Disgusting but it helps.

Yeah, I was going to mention the furnace filter. Some of them do a pretty good job of keeping the air clean.
yea, we have central air. not sure when the filter was changed last so obviously id do it prior to using it. ill have to see what filters are available. thanks for that idea.
and heating is baseboard so can't do anything there lol
