First points events of the year at Metlife (Meadowlands) Stadium. Weather is supposed to be mostly cloudy (and always windy in East Rutherford) with a high of 70. I'll be there in the Suzuki again. Anyone else going?

Was hoping to, but car isn't running. Hopefully I'll make one in May or June.

After this Saturday, the next event is May 5th and then June 2nd.

I updated the NNJR-SCCA schedule in the sticky post because a few dates were changed.

My friend from the jet ski club was there in a black straight piped 911

Hmm, I don't recall a black 911. Maybe he ran 1st heat when I was off.

I PAXed 59th out of 121, just about middle of the road. Not bad for the Suzuki... Kevin won Prepared class FTD, congrats.

It's an older one, like late 70s/early 80s

yesterdey went pretty good new shocks and springs felt good. I paxed 16th out of the 121, but im more interested in raw time. Raw time i was 10th. I know the car can be faster I was having a real long brake pedal, causing me to miss some of my braking points, and I was running my old slicks new ones are not on the car yet. All in all a good day

Damn I wish I was able to go. How'd that Suzuki end up doing? I hear those little cars are handlers!

dont worry about finishing last in your class. The guy that won your class is Tony C. he codrove my car last year and is really a top driver. You should have him drive your car to give you a base line on what you can get out of the car. It is always nice to know is it driver or car costing you time on the course. remember your new at this its going to take awhile to get good so dont compare times to drivers to much. remember seat time and more seat time. I left over 1.5 sec out there just because im rusty since it was my first event since october.

Yea it can handle well for a 4 door sedan and really well for a Suzuki.

My best raw time was 47.343 which was 94th out of 121 (Kevin's Camaro won the prepared classes with a 40.405). My PAX multiplier was an awesome .779025 because I was in the street tire FWD class, so it dropped my time down to 36.881 which was good enough for 59th out of 121 in PAX.

I did much better than the previous week at the novice school. I felt like I had a lot more control of the car and it was more predictable. I knew where I was going and what I needed to do, rather than just reacting to the next set of cones. I'm just looking to improve and get more seat time.

Yea I was BS-ing with Tony the whole time. Him and Jeff were in my class with white Mini Coopers and both are long time instructors so I knew I didn't have a chance. It would have been nice to beat the Civic Si and VW GTI in my class, but they are a lot more performance oriented than my Suzuki.

Rob was my instructor at the novice school and he liked the car when he ran it. He said he was surprised that just lifting the throttle could move the ass end through a turn considering it's FWD. One of the other novices had a 2dr Accord V6 that Rob also drove and he said it was night and day. I still wish I could run the IROC though...
