wtb hoses

I recently bought a beater car that I am putting together, a 99 firebird. I was driving it everyday and discovered a coolant leak. After inspecting the engine bay, I found that the one hose that connects to the heater core line sprung a leak. I searched high and low and can't find this aftermarket, it is a gm only part apparently, which comes as a set of the 2 hoses, inlet and outlet and cost 200. Obviously being a beater, I am not looking to spend 200 on a hose. Does anybody happen to have this hose laying around, or is parting out a 3.8 camaro or firebird that I can snag this off of? Thanks

id just bypass the heater core till you can find one :D

I was going to do this nasty, but I would prefer to fix it now and not have to worry about it down the road.

#4 in this picture? The Part Number is 19257179 if it helps.

Edit: That number is an updated part/kit, it includes the new design parts to get rid of the plastic clips/retainers on the engine side of the hose and will now use a metal flange that is bolted in.

You could also cut the bad section of hose and put a Flush T with a cap on it.

You are correct, this is the line that I am referring to. On my car, where you see number 12, between those two metal pieces is where mine is leaking. I prefer to switch the whole hose rather then fix the leaking section because the whole hose appears to be shot, if you grab ahold of it, it is very soft and spongy feeling which is a sign it is done.

Ok, gotcha. I know you can dremel off the crimped ends and replace it with regular rubber and hose clamps in some cases.

I did get this part number and looked it up, but only found it available from gm. I am wondering if there is a way to adapt a regular piece of hose to replace it? The only thing that I don't get is how to adapt that where it connects to the engine, there is what looks to be a special plastic connector there on the factory line

The fwd 3.8 uses a similar heater hose setup that goes through the tensioner. They have the metal flange you would need to connect a regular hose. I replaced a belt tensioner on a 2000+ impala and I think it came with them, or if someone has a take off from a W body car you could probably salvage them.

I looked on the parts computer and they don't list them for a 3.8 Camaro or Firebird. Looks like they only come as part of that hose kit.

W bodies with a 3.8 use hose adapter p/n 24506322. I am not sure if they are the same size, diameter or if they will even work but it may be worth looking into.
