So I was in Kenilworth the other night and came out to my car to find 2 tickets on my car. Backstory is going to meet a friend at a bar, I came down the road, could not find parking on the right side of the street, turned around in a driveway, and parked on the left side, along with 2 or 3 other cars. Apparently this is a one way road(I didn't realize this at the time), although it is a wide road and I saw multiple cars parked the same direction I parked in as I came down the road.
So obviously this is one of the tickets I received: 39:4-135 Parking-Direction/Side of st-angle pkng- one way
In addition, I received :39:3-4 Driving or parking unregistered motor vehicle
My immediate response was "Bull****, I renewed my registration back in march!" I look at the registration, it is only good until 4/2012. But i did definitely register my car in march, so how is a registration only good for two months?
Are either of these tickets points tickets?
If they are, is there any basis to fight either of them? I figure the parking on the wrong side of the street is my own fault anyway, and I should have looked at the registration more closely when I got it, but I kind of feel cheated I got 2 months out of paying full price for a registration then got a ticket when I assumed I was good until march of 2013. I'm not trying to shake off my own responsibility in this situation, and either way, if it's not a points ticket, I may as well just eat the $108 dollars than to lose a couple hundred bucks from not working plus pay court costs and potentially have to pay $108 anyway.
