Just a project I've been collecting parts for over the past several months & have finally gotten to work on this week.

This is my 2008 Yamaha R6-S, it was my first motorcycle that I bought back in the summer of 2008. I rode it all year round to 2010 when I left for the Marines. When I got back to it in November of that same year, I put a lot of money into it hoping to bring it with me to California where i was stationed, and that never happened. It has basically been sitting for the past 2 years nice and snug in my garage awaiting for its triumphant return, this time to the track and no longer the street.

What it used to look like:

Woodcraft Racing Skins:

Mock up on the bike:

Got rid of the headlights:

Paint Progress:

Ran out of paint:

Unfortunately I ran out of paint and am awaiting a new can to finish up before I lay some clear on it. I was able to take it for a spin around the block the other day and it still runs great and feels really light.

Some of the modifications i've done:
520 Chain Conversion with 15 Tooth, 50 Tooth Sprokets for more low end power
Spiegler Braided Lines Front & Rear
SSB Dual Carbon Brake Pads
Woodcraft Clip-Ons
DZus Quick Fastners
Full Spectrum Genesis Lightweight Battery
Removed all lighting and associated wiring harness

I'll be bringing it back to Cali with me next year, I have 3 or 4 tracks within an hours driving from where I live. I'm really excited to wrap up this project!

Looking good! Why are you deciding to make it a track only bike?

Theres a lot of tracks in California that are close to where I live, and sometimes I get to aggravated riding on the street. Even riding here in New Jersey seems rediculosuly dangerous now, and a sport bike isn't right for our area. I still have a Honda in California that is my daily ride.

Yep, its a light weight dedicated road course bike.

Good luck with it. Didn't you have a klx250sf you were racing? How was that?
