Wow. What type of lugnuts are you using? If they are shank style, are they the exact right size with washers?

How did you install them?

Did you run a tap/cleaner through the shanks?

Did you torque em on correctly?

I purchased all new lugs for the wheels, I used the factory lugs with the stock wheels and arp studs with no issues. I pressed them in using the lug nut method since I dont have access to a press. Some of the lug nuts are bulging in the center, I cant even get them out of the wheel with the brken lug. They do have the washers on them.

Yea sounds like a crappy bunch of shank lugs, went through a coupla bags of welds before I had a decent set. The coating they use is done across the whole lug and if you don't clean out the threads, they will gall on the wheel stud.

I had one tear up a ARP stud, had to pry it off the stud so we could get the wheel off.

I got ARP to replace the one stud for free, but idk bout 10 snapped ones. Worth a shot though, never know.

They basically said I was sol because I didnt press them in, probably just going to sell these wheels and get something that uses a diffrent lug nut, I have terrible luck with wheel studs.

What brand lug nuts are they? And are they the correct shank size/length in addition to thread pitch?

They were the same size/length as the ones that I already had which were correct, they didnt bottom out on the hub since im running a wheel spacer, and they do not extend all the way thru the wheel. They are 12x1.5, the studs are 12x1.5 as well. As for brand I think they are summit, but idk the speed shop split them into packs of 5.

I used a blue point stud installer which is basically a hardened lug nut and havent had issues. I did the lug method initially and messed one up.

You have to clean the threads in the shanks with a tap. You'll be amazed how horrendous the threads are. I had the exact same thing happen and the shank bulged in the center. Run a tap through brand new ones and check them on a new stud before you install everything.

I have drag lites with arp 1/2-20 studs. Weld shanks and no problems so far...
