Anyone have experience with the first gen Cadillac CTS with the 3.6?

been interested in one for a while and starting to look around at some higher mileage ones... over 100k

I've worked on a handful of them with around 200k. The timing chains get noisy and they tend to eat oil. The bushing on the rear differential is common also, if you drive on a bad bushing it will eventually ruin the driveshaft bushings too. Check https://www.creative-steel.com/home.php for replacement bushings. I've used them on a few customer cars and they are a lot better than the stock bushings. If I think of more ill update, I like them and would buy one for myself if I could afford a cadillac.

Had one back in 06-09, and loved it. Granted, I drove it for the first ~40k, as it was leased, but it was a great car. As Stevoone said, diff bushings. I think the 3.6s were spared the plague of the Crankshaft Position Sensor issue that the 3.2Ls had. But radio buttons often chipped on them as well. CadillacOwners.com is a good site to explore before biting the bullet, if you want more info. www.cadillacfaq.com was a good source for write-ups and such as well.

Good luck. I still love their styling.
