i was bored so i decided to try some body work with my timing cover
before..

there are some small imperfections that i can see but they wont be visible when the motor is in the car

Thanks Brian, I started with some purple magic and a brillo pad to remove oil and the flakes of rust. Then I sandblasted the heavy rust. Next I used a filler primer and really baked it with a heat lamp so it could really settle in the rough spots. After many coats of that I started hand sanding the high spots very lightly with a dry 180 followed by a wet 400 and finally to a wet 1500. It definitely took time but I'm trying to save some cash here and there.
