lt1 pin A on the icm plug, where does it go??

where does wire A on the icm go to ? the diagram says its ignition positive voltage and looks like it goes to the crank position sensor, but im not positive. its a pink wire. help? the pinouts show that there are 2 pink wires going into the pcm: blue plug pin 3 pin and black plug pin 30

The pink feed for icm/coil/cps is the same, common wire fed by ignition fuse.

Yea that pink should feed the icm/coil/cps, verify you have voltage at all three before going further

i checked icm and coil before i took it out of car and it all tested ok. im going to take wire a from the cps and put it to wire a on the icm. that should be correct.

You need power to all three, and whether each component worked before is irrelevent if they are missing power. Take a multimeter and check, its very simple before you hack up your narhess more.

i can do that without having a batter or pcm connected? and where does it get its power from? sorry for the idiot questions. i am learning as i go. thank you for all your help

No, you cannot do it without a battery or PCM.

However, you can find the fuse end, and test for continuity with a multimeter between the fuse end and each feed.

I have a 96 harness, I think it started out as a M6 and was used on a TH400.

Well AFAIK, you don't do anything to it, as a TH400 requires no plug in cept the VSS, which I think is also on a T56.

I will take a look at it after work and see if it has all the trans connectors

I took out the harness, but no clue what a T56 uses/needs. If you can get me pics of what you need I can confirm its on my harness.

i just tested my icm harness pin A and D to ground. A got 12v but D was jumping around , no where near 12v though. where does D get its power from?

That sounds right, I think D should be the charge/discharge signal for the coil firing.

ICM Harness

A = ~10vdc-12vdc (or your system voltage)
B = 1vac-4vac while cranking
C = 0 ohms to ground
D = ~10vdc-12vdc (or your system voltage)

A B and C are correct. D is under 1v. is this a symptom of a bad coil?? im going to borrow one from work tomorrow and see is thats the problem. i tried a new icm today, not the problem thank god. 74$ for that

Could be, a coil is an easy thing to test real quick either way.

oh, one more thing, the coil doesnt have to be touching the head to ground or anything right? i should be able to hold it in my hand and it would still function ?

FIXED!! pin A to the coil did not have 12V. jumped it to fuse 11 and got spark! thank so much for the help guys i appreciate it
