If you include dual CB radio antennas and a driver shorter than 5' 9", you just described every diesel truck in Hunterdon county.

I miss the days before this. Before everyone with an exhaust and a tune thinks they have a 12 second truck. Before all the posers came in listening to country and have stacks on their trucks and confederate flags even though they live in Elizabeth.

Sadly, that's the majority of sussex county too. Don't forget the confederate flag though!
It just kills me that I make more money than most of the kids (my age or younger) around here and my vehicles aren't as nice as theirs. Seriously, how the hell do you afford a Cummins/Powerstroke when you pump gas 25 hours a week or get paid $10 an hour?!
My freaking insurance on something newer than either of my vehicles would rail me. I already pay $165ish a month for just my 94 Z28 with a perfectly clean driving record (guess it's cause I have zero credit history?).

If you tack on a **** ton of miles, most diesel trucks fall to below 10k pretty fast. IE, past 200k miles

This. Come down here to Texas. 5-6k Cummins trucks (clean, but higher miles) are a dime a dozen

Okay, still. I make just shy of $18 an hour with benefits, virtually have no responsibility or bills except for car insurance and it's hit or miss if I pay my own phone bill since it's on my brother's plan and $80 is like an hour or two of work for him.
So after over time I gross $40,000 on a crappy year. I don't think I could afford payments and insurance on a vehicle totaling more than $600 combined a month.

You would be surprised at the number of people who will pay out the ass for a nice car/truck that they can't afford at the end of the day. Hint: having a brand new car/truck but having no savings at the end of the month realistically means that you can't afford it.

It makes me so damn bitter lol.
I'd love a new 5.0 mustang, C5 Vette or WS6 but I would never buy one and not put collision on it (I got quoted something insane like $5,200 a year for full coverage on my 94 Z28 --- once again, I have a CLEAN driving record (accident 4 years ago) and zero credit history; guess that's another topic as to why though).

RIF, just sayin..... "Well, there is a new diesel Mustang sheriff in town and this one is packing Cummins heat and enough snot to go deep into the 8s. Considering that there is a diesel powered funny car out there now and the flopper is in the 7.90 range, this Mustang is totally crazy."

Still an LT1 fanboi, just on the back burner for now :shifty:
Wanted a pickup and told myself, if I did get one, it had to be a diesel to prevent me from knowing how to mod it.

My bad I looked at it real quick. Anyway you guys are just hating on this mustang at least it seems that way.
I know what you mean when you work your ass off for a nice car or truck and some idiot pulls up in his 50K plus vehicle and you ask yourself what am I doing wrong. I just recently found out what the list price for a escalade goes for and I'm like wtf. Especially when in my area there is one on almost every block. If there is no escalade there is a denalli. It just blows my mind on where people get the money to afford almost a 80k vehicle. Get this one though there is a guy in the town I work in that lives in a apartment and is driving around in a new Lamborghini.

I think this is pretty cool. Regarding the amount of high dollar cars seen on the road, it's all about the lease payment. Very small percentage actually own these cars or are financing a buy. I'm shocked how many people are generally comfortable with having a car payment for the rest of their life.

Not quiet, I think it's mainly sarcasm. A 8-9 second Mustang, gas or diesel is extremely respectable. The amount of time in fabrication alone would make me proud for whoever built it. Defiantly a sweet ride... way cooler than that lame 2JZ foxbody.
On a quick glimpse, they are thinking it might be the fastest known diesel powered door slammer.
Maybe one day I'll go buy an expensive new vehicle and live like a bla... nevermind. :bertstare:

i think its awesome, i just like making fun of matt for being a diesel hipster :D this car is pretty much the foundation of what america was built off of. its loud, its noisy, its excessive and its not very practical at all...it serves no other purpose in existence than just to be pretty ****ing cool....that in itself, makes it awesome....outside of the fact that its fast as hell :D
