I'm up at 5am on weekdays, but I stay up late Tuesday nights to watch this show.
From last week's opener, it seems like this season is going to be another awesome one. Curious if Tig is going to go off on his own rampage, how Ope is going to get vengeance, and what's to become of this new Spanish pimp... Is it 10 o'clock yet?

There's no doubt in my mind that Clay is plotting something. His story at the table was half-true and all false. "Coming clean," my ass. (Yeah, I probably could have phrased that better).
Tara's going to turn into Gemma, I think that was pretty safe to see from the way Sutter has written the last two seasons. She's going to keep deteriorating, and I can definitely see her & Jax's relationship going downhill, while Jax's relationship with Gemma slightly improves--Kind of saw hints of that when he took her advice about running versus staying like Tara suggested, at the end of the episode.
I think the deal with the blacks is only going to get more violent, more complicated and create more conflict than it's worth. Between this and the Irish, I think angst and morale will rise and fall, respectively, within the club and it's members.
Legally, I think the club will be fine, as always. Sure, some hiccups along the way, but SAMCRO always seems to find a way out of courtroom trouble.
There are so many sub-stories going on, and that's part of what makes this show so dramatic and enticing. I'm going to stop there before this post gets any more long-winded, but I'm excited for the episode. Hopefully other members will chime in with their thoughts on the show as well.

I seriously think that Tig is going to kill clay, He is going to be blinded by the rage of his daughter being killed and clay's lie will cause him to kill him.

I would of watched it last night but I had a crazy windgust come and knock the power out from about 9 PM to 2 AM. There was trees and poles down everywhere. I looked at the JCP&L outage map and said 46% of Waretown was in the dark. I then turned to my police scanner mobile app because at 9PM with no power there is well nothing to do

Everyone i know watches it lol. Every tuesday its all i see on fb is soa posts. If you didnt start watching from the first episode first season it gets confusing, i had to buy all the dvds to catch my wife up on it since she started watching last season. I love it partially because the sheild was my favorite show ever and the same guy writes sons of anarchy and reuses some actors and characters and gangs. In season 1 the fbi agent jax killed also played a lead detective on the sheild. Some of the one niners are the same and the cia agent hes dealing with now also played the police captain. Actually kurt sutter the writer of soa plays otto and played a recurring hitman role on the sheild
I think the other writer of the sheild writes fx's Justified which is also a good show and uses the same actors

Justified is awesome. So was Rescue Me. FX has a pretty good track record
You didn't go back far enough. The shield was amazing.

Same here. Up at 0500 but sacrifice an hour of sleep for SOA. I haven't been disappointed by an episode yet. I'm also interested to see what comes of Jimmy Smit's character. You know you don't get something for nothing... I have a feeling the club will bypass all of the issues at hand, and then the pimp will have something to do with the cliffhanger they'll most certainly leave behind for the start of the next season.
nj85, don't forget that the actor who played Lem on The Shield showed up in SOA as part of SAMCRO from another chapter; he had the beef with Tig.
Mike, I loved The Shield right up to the last season, but I was somewhat disappointed by that season. I had problems digesting the last episode. But then I hated how they ended The Sopranos, too.

Opie wouldnt have lasted the season anyway. He hated tigg. He hated clay. He hated jax's decisions. This was his way of forgiving jax and getting free from the club

Heartbreaking and brutal. How much can you do to one guy? Loses his wife, his dad, "I'm not sure I love anyone..." I guess he was bound to go, but what a way to take him out.
Jersey Mike
09-26-2012, 04:25 PM
Actually, I appreciate that Sutter did that. I liked Opie's character a lot, and thought he'd end up sitting at the top of the table with Jax or something of the sort, but I like twists and the unexpected. Great move, on Sutter's part, in my opinion--Opie gets to "be with his dad," he knows his kid's are safe, gets to help change the club, gets out of the club, shows Jax he still his best friend--it makes sense from so many angles, but obviously isn't what I thought we'd be seeing.
For a moment, I was hoping that Jax would strangle Pope the 2nd time they met in the warden's office. It makes sense that he didn't, as they need to get out, but still a little disappointed when he said he said he would work with Pope.

The scene with Opie was deep. I like how they at least get the fight realistic. He got clocked in the face with the pipe and you knew that was the end of it. I have a feeling this season will end with a lot of people "getting what they deserved". Jax will likely use Tigg to do all of his dirty club work and dispose of him. This season is starting off very well.

09-26-2012, 09:22 PM
I have to agree, He is no longer suffering from losing donna or his dad. But it was such a terrible way to go out... For someone who gave up so much for the club, he didnt deserve that. I wonder what his next move is, Kurt Sutter is a mastermind, This show honestly keeps me on my toes. But i cant wait to see pope get what is coming to him, The things he has done to hurt the club, jax better make him pay.

the home invasions also have me intrigued. they took clays safe, with what the birth certificates? id like to know how clays call to the cops about the prostitutes will rebound on jax/gemma
I think clay is behind all those new guys doing that stuff. Not sure of the endgame though

I think you may be on to something, What I wanna know is why the nomads are doing it in the first place? It does not make sense, Im also a little behind on the whole rico thing, I was trying to watch seasons 1-3 while watching season 4 on tv haha. i need season 4 to hit netflix.

Going into this week's episode, it looks like Jax is in trouble. I never know what to expect from this show, but with the Cartel wanting Clay to be at the head of the table, and the prospect of Clay's ugly secrets coming to light, I can see Clay & Jax striking a mutually exclusive deal that lasts a couple of episodes.
Just a wild guess as I try to rear Sutter's mind, anticipating another one of these 90-minute episodes that airs tonight

Yeah, a few things to lead into next season. All-in-all, I think he ended the season well. Let me know if you want a recap of a few things.
Anyone catch the very end. The way Gemma was touching him was identical to the way Tara was at the end of last season
Jersey Mike
12-05-2012, 07:32 PM
Didn't catch that.
In the play, after Hamlet finds out that his uncle had poured poison in his glass, Hamlet forces him to drink the glass himself. He effectively got his revenge on his uncle, and did so by turning Cladius's own "weapon" against him. ...Gotta love Sutter's creative spin on that! Genius solution, really. And deserving in respect to how integral Clay was to this world.
