saturday night in bloomfeild a 2000 camaro was racing another car down the street after leaving the bar when a civic pulled out from a side street and was hit by the camaro the mother of the girl who was killed had agreed to let her go out to a friends last minute she later died at the hostpital that night

Wow, I can't even imagine how it feels to be the mother of that girl.
It's truly disgusting. It takes balls to get into a car drunk and race someone. Now he'll pay for his actions. Hell, the Civic driver should get the same punishment.

Way too many accidents happening lately people, pay attention to what's going on around you and don't even think about trying to get through that traffic light that just turned yellow. Deer are everywhere and I've never seen so many squirrels running around like this year. It doesn't matter what vehicle you are driving, expect the other driver to be too aggressive so be prepared to react.

Can I tell you I feel like this year I have witnessed the most aggressive driving? I got my CDL about a year ago, I can be going 55 MPH with 50,000lbs of weight and people will blow through stop sings, yields and merges to get in front of me. Last week had a crotch rocket pass a fleet of our dump trucks on the wrong side of the road and he would have hit my front bumper if I didn't swing to the right. Today some guy in a Mercedes was literally under my frame in a yielding zone, as I crept forward I couldn't see any gap between my rear tires and his doors. I was wishing in the worst way I was going to flatten his car without intentionally doing so.

I just buried a good friend last week from a motorcycle accident. He was a great guy and a fantastic Ferrari/Lambo mechanic.

a kid 1 town over from me was on a dirtbike, no lights, no helmet, on a street with limited lighting. He was hit by a car because they couldn't see him; too many people not using their brains and operating machines with deadly consequences.

Is there another article that said they were drunk or two cars were racing ?

All i see is a civic hit by a camaro.

That's sad, I'd rather see the idiot in the camaro die than some innocent girl. What's the speed limit on that road? No doubt they were in excess of 55mph. I hope they serve serious time.

I have been dealing with that for 5 years and most of my cargo is over size stuff so i'll be lke 95000 LBS and im getting cut off. That will never end

The story is very sad.

no mention of speed or intoxication in the articles, or where either driver was coming from... its obvious that someone broke a law, whether it be speeding or failing to stop at a stop sign. no charges filed yet either

My thoughts. Why is everyone accusing the camaro. I see plenty of people who can't merge or make right on reds/stop signs and almost cause countless accidents.

For all we know from the article they turned and cut him off.

Regardless sucks to happen but let's get the whole story before we accuse

I was going to ask the same but the OP appears to have more info since he seems to know all involved.

And just a little about the innocent victim

I can't find info about the posted speed limit but I am going to assume its about 35mph given there is a park on the 400 block with a speed limit of 25mph. CLEARLY the camaro was traveling WELL OVER 50mph. Articles state that several witnesses saw the camaro racing another car in an excessive rate of speed WITH NO HEADLIGHTS ON! Get your head out of your ass, some ****heads ****ed up big time and now a girl is dead.

I agree Adam.

Argh "innocent victim of drag racing" - no, it was street racing. Drag racing takes place at a track and is governed by sanctioning bodies and the state police.

I'll wait for the rest of the story/investigation I have been pulled over and threatend of careless driving and speeding because of how loud my car is.......

Wouldn't want to be charged for murder if I got into a accident because they thought I was racing

Only real comment on this, drag racing != street racing in a ****ing residential zone. While I can't say much on it, thats pretty stupid.

Edit: And lets say they were going 80 or so, that just proves how ****** Fbods stop under a "oh ****" moment, for all the idiots that claim driving at high speeds on the road at night is safe.

rickyd13

agreed anything over an idle down the street would get me yelled at by my mom for taking off to fast

rickyd13
10-02-2012, 02:10 PM
i know the street its not to far from me but even of you look it up online you will find that this street is commonly raced at nights and its not a small street its one of the main roads in town but theres alot of things with this

Ricky this forum does not condone street racing or the talk thereof whatsoever. If you feel that this is an acceptable form of passing the time there are forums you can go to that will be much more accepting of it. Please do not discuss it here or you will get a vacation to give you time to find these other forums

That's very easy to handle. You wave your friend off and don't race.

I've spent a lot of my career as a firefighter prying dead/critically injured people out of wrecks.

rickyd13
10-02-2012, 08:22 PM
i never said that i condone it but it happens all over the place and yes it does ruin/take lives but i would bet that if there was a track within 15-20 min of here with a reasonable fee me and my friends would have been there many times

i spent most of my day saturday at the autocross in the meadowlands with one of my good friends so i have some idea as to what I'm going to be doing when i get another fun car that would be able to make it around the track in under a day

Some high school girl is dead, that driver of the camaros life is most likely over as of this, and a lot of damage both physical and mental was done.

No one cares why you can't make it to a race track, or whatever BS your rambling bout.

You said you know these people, show some respect at least.

Perfect ending. Now for a nice moment of silence
