No no, the oil prime tool is used to start the thing. Its a new fangled hand crank.

I'm not used to those old fashioned LT1 motors, I haven't had one in a year or two.

Made a silly assumption based on user name.

On a serious note, you can make one out of an old junk distributor. You can even use a slotted screw driver if you find one long enough, hack off the handle and chuck the rest in a drill.

Yea, I am gonna bring a oil pump drive shaft to work on Thurs and see what I can come up with on the mill. I will let you know Bill.

A long time ago when I was younger and more destitute then I am now, I made one with nothing more complicated than a hacksaw and a dremel tool. A lathe would have been ****, though.

I have an old distributor I can give you if you want to make one to keep. If that works on your engine.

I use an old distributor but I don't remove the collar. This way it still seats to the intake and doesn't make a mess. Just take the springs/bushings/weights off, pop the c-clip and tack weld it in place with a bolt on the other side.

I paid around 15 -20 bucks at napa. Cheaper then the time and money to make one or drive around to borrow one.
