pretty much what the title says. my car got flooded completely to the roof. and i was days away from taking out in the street again but thats all in the past now . What do i need to do to get it back to working order . i completely gutted the interior. then when i came to the engine compartment i took the carb out to rebuild it and I'm going to put a new fuel pump in. what i need to know is how far do i need to rebuild to get it street ready again. As far as wiring goes there's a lot of corrosion on the connectors. should i look into getting a new wiring harness or should i just replace the worst ones(batt, alt, starter)? What else should i worry about?

Call insurance, place claim, collect money and avoid nightmare.

Your going to be battle what the water left behind...on the cylinder walls, heads, crank, etc....contaminated fuel system.....internals of the trans/rear....mold issues on anything pourous etc. You need to cut your loses and buy something else...a 3rd gen isn't rare enough to even think about salvaging it.

if that is the case, sorry bud, it's cheaper and easier to scrap.

I agree with the above statements. When all is said and done you will have to redo the whole car to get it street able . V has an 84 Camaro for sale, check it out in the classifieds.

Yeah, sadly it isn't worth saving no matter how sentimental. The salt water is horrendous.

Way too much work to fix it. Every wire, every connector, every electronic part on the car needs to be replaced. Everything behind the dash, every hvac vent, the entire interior. The list goes on and on.

Even if you replace all of this stuff, you will still be chasing gremlins in untill you finally call it quits.

Oh... And everything that can rust will rust.
