So, lost my unlimited plan and been struggling to stay under 2gig a month.
Looking at apps that claim to streamline your data use by compressing files etc, Onavo is the one popular app, anybody use something along these lines?
Phone is on ICS and rooted but not on custom rom.

Compatibility issues with JB most likely.
And ICS? What is this, 2011?
Like Brian said, wifi as much as possible. WTF are you doing that you are burning 2 gigs a month? Are you tethering at home?
btw, tether at the moment. Using full internet power to download bootleg TDKR.

Lots of pandora and lots of downtime on train etc.

That's what's eating up your data. Quit that streaming stuff, load some MP3 on the SD card, win?

Nah, too lazy and that requires me to download music and shenz.
In related news, it felt good to force stop "data acquisition" apps, ****ing verizon.

Unlimited data on my GS3 is FTW.
Shouldn't have given that up Matt. I'm hanging on to mine as long as Verizon will allow.

Long story short, I was lied to by verizon "tech" by saying that no matter what I missed being grandfathered in and my droid had died and I needed a new phone.. didn't think to just buy a used/new phone outside of verizon.
Ah well, 2 gigs fresh as of 12 tonight.
