For those of you who don't use social media, or are just unaware, there has been a huge increase in performance car theft over the past week. From right here in NJ all the way down to Florida there have been many performance cars that have gone missing since the first of the year. Most notably, Jessica Barton's 1500hp Supra was stolen on the 3rd. Let this pic be a cruel wake up call. It can happen...

Def was not an inside job. She has 8 years almost 200k into that car. Insurance is giving her 20k. No way she could sell those parts and make up the difference. I spoke to her on the phone and the tone of her voice sounded like death. Regardless she isnt the only one. This one was stolen in NJ just the other day too...

There was no room inside the shop for the car so they dropped it off at her place. Car was gone in the morning. I really think that someone saw how good the car ran, followed them back to where they dropped it off, and came back in the middle of the night. Same exact thing happened to my friend earlier in the year. Whether you agree or not the moral of the story is to lock your stuff up if you can and keep a close eye on it. Learn from someone else's misfortune so the chances of it happening to you are lessened.

When the rear in my Tahoe blew, I had taken in apart in my driveway. Had the carrier and gearset sitting on the ground right by the truck and left to go pick up another rear. While I was gone, the wifey noticed some scrappers coming onto the driveway taking my parts! She ran outside and they just used their broken-I-barely-speaka-english, put the stuff down and left. Every time I saw them scouting for scrap after that I would stare them down past my house... they would speed off. :lol: They had gotten really bad for a while, but seem to have let up. Im assuming metal prices went down...

I might be mistaken, but I think I read where she said that the car has been through many different setups over the years, so with that total figure they could be including the cost of 2-3 different transmissions, custom turbo kits, etc that would help add the cost up quickly. Not the best way to describe your car's worth though.

I just can't justify putting an amount into a vehicle that is 10x the cost of the car stock, even if you have the money to, you would certainly never get the investment back. As what a few others said on here, the number seems high for what has been put into it, but it's not unheard of to blow money on certain stuff that really affects the total cost number. A certain person I know spent over $50,000 in fuel alone for a place to properly dyno, and tune their engine to run on today's legal fuels..... not a typo on that number.



And $200,000 could of bought them a nice sports car that tame enough for everyday driving.

Can't take that car as a reference as that was an unlimited budget and we dont know what was tried or included in the final tally. BPU mods on a tt supra would yield a lot lower times vrs 4th gen w/say 2g's in alotted mods....but then again is 2g vrs 10g, one is turbo and one isn't and price points of entry to buy the car are different.


Its like the old argument of buying a new zl1 or 1ss and doing the mods yourself..can attain same quarter mile time w/less $ virus the zl1..

If the NHRA catches any track not following the rules at any time they will go full nuclear.

Regarding the situation at Atco with the burn lawsuit, it's important to note that both Acto AND the NHRA are being named as defendants. That was a track rental, but according to how things are supposed to be run it's not supposed to matter.

Now hes same 302 based and a procharger. New setup should go faster than that. U can buy a fully caged notch on cg for like 3 grand as a roller. How he can run at the track no cage i have no clue expept maybe grudge or a run wat u brung type deal. Not trying to turn this into a pissing match.
