View Full Version : Who is ready for spring?

I've gotten my entire suspension replaced on my 94 Z28 for spring. New BMR A Arm assemblies, Bilstein shocks, with Eibach springs. New GM sway bar bushings and links for the front and the rear, new rear lower control arms, New Panhard rod, new torque arm mount, new trans mount, new engine mounts. Also replaced the fuel pump and sending unit with AC Delco since I was back their. I replaced my water pump. Replaced all my burned out bulbs. Need to change the oil now. Gotta do a power steering fluid flush, as well as a brake fluid flush. Just about ready for another reliable year of F body enjoyment. Once I get this car squared away, its on to my other two that are pretty much only needing fluid changes. Then all 3 will be ready for Spring of 2013! I'll be cruising every weekend their is sun. Who else is ready for spring, or getting ready at least?

Basically thats it for the SOM along with a good wash.

Just dropped the LT1 off at the chassis shop today. So when I get that back I just need to do a few little odds and ends and that will be done.

In about a month my new trailer will be here, so will need to do a few things to that when it comes.

I just need to get some pieces painted, grease up the lower control arms and I'm good. Not excited to see the $$ difference in cruising in car vs cruising on bike :|

I need to finish my Stereo (amp, speakers, sub) install, test and put the dash back together and replace the front wheel bearings. Then a wash, wax, detail and ready to go! I usually find a place to go every week when the weather is nice! I am building my central NJ cruise calendar as we speak. Should be ready to go by April after everyone updates their cruise/show info :D

no need to wait until spring or a sunny/salt free day. fbodies were ment to be driven all year long and are a blast to drive in the snow and ice.

I have a Rusty 76' I am working on now replacing a rear frame rail then I have to patch panel every body part, full exhaust, manifold, carb, tuneup, prep and paint.

After I am done with that in March I have to decide Sell my 94'Z28 vert or touch up a ding or 2 and paint then sell cause I need a truck.

I still have to Finish my Vette which needs to transform from race car back to street ... New gas tank fuel pumps, rework interior wipers and headlights would be a nice option etc. In the meantime I will ride my motorcycle.

Vette is away in storage, just gotta plug the battery back in come spring.
TA is fine, but needs a new cat and id like to paint the hood
Camaro is parked (3 years now!) with a nasty trans leak, maybe ill get it towed to the shop in the spring, i sent away for QQ plates so maybe that will spark some motivation
Blazer is having ABS issues, needs a fuel tank pressure sensor, needs front bottom ball joints... im sure more will break soon lol but this is my DD

I've got a big boxful of suspension and brake parts to go into the GTA - waiting for a rod end for the panhard rod to finish up the rear; then the front goes under the knife...

Everyone is treating these 30k (new) cars like they're Ferrari's or Lambo's. I drive mine every day, rain, snow or sun. These cars aren't meant to be garage queens, although I wish I had a beater to drive in the snow, but otherwise get them out there and enjoy life! It gives me a laugh when people in heavier, better wet-handling cars drive slow as hell in the rain (snow I'm a grandma) because I'm passing them in a light rear-assed car in all season tires \m/

^ I find fun in watching these 330i's and is350's sliding sideways at 2mph on a slight incline on 287...so much i honk and wave. If you can afford a 40k car, you should be able to afford another means of traveling thru the whitestuff. After the 1st snow storm w/my is300, i bought a truck....the 'snow' button on some of these cars are as useless as the 'elevator close' button a incessantly push all the time.

LOL. I was thinking the same thing yesterday when I saw a 750i holding up traffic going up a slight incline.

:cold::cold:I thought spring was here, so I called my insurance co. and told them to put all my cars back on legal driving status so I could take advantage of that killer weather we had earlier in the week. If I had known it was just a tease, I would have just kept staring at them under wraps. I don't think we are going to have an enjoyable season this year. Looks to be a crappy spring of cold and rain, followed by a dismal summer of unenjoyable ***** weather. I won't be coming out except if we get those perfect days. But I am guessing if we even see just a handful, ill still be waiting for a better season next year. This year is already proving to be a major major disappointment.
